It's here. After rumour and speculation, giving away to speculation and rumour, Apple has finally announced the iPhone 4 - choosing its WWDC 2010 to show off its latest attack on the smartphone market.
That's right, not the iPhone HD or the iPhone 4G but the iPhone 4 - a shiny new device which is being touted as the slimmest smartphone ever.
And the impressive specs list doesn't just end there. Couple this with 40 per cent better battery, gyroscope gaming technology, HD video and video editing, and better pixel power... it's no wonder that Gizmodo decided to buy up a half-inched version before the device was announced.
To celebrate the launch of the iPhone 4, we have added some of the best images to come out of Cupertino regarding the device.
Feast your eyes on the images below...

The new iPhone 4 has a new 3.5-inch high resolution screen too, sadly not OLED, but four times the pixel density at 326ppi. It also features something called Retina Display, which is designed to help make the higher resolution look even smoother. And it also means that its new FaceTime app looks pretty awesome.

The iPhone 4 is powered by the new Apple A4 chip, the same one announced for the iPad. This has given the iPhone 4 40% more battery life, with 7 hours talk time and 6 hours browsing over 3G networks.

Guitar Hero is making its debut on the iPhone 4, and it's pretty much the same experience as you'd find on other portable devices. Elements like "new tapping mechanics, richer guitar experience and a new strumming system," will be used according to Karthik Bala of Activision.
The application is available now, costing $2.99 from the App Store - we're still waiting for UK pricing or release dates.

Another little treat, for the US only at the moment, is the addition of Netflix to the App Store.
Users will be able to watch movies on the iPhone, as a free application, and synchronises across platforms like the Xbox and iPad once logged into your account.
You'll also be able to watch the films over a 3G stream, with the quality automatically updating as your network will allow.

Steve Jobs announced the iPhone and the iPod touch is to get iBooks, as well as a smattering of new features for the service at Apple's WWDC today, including a PDF viewer built right into its iBooks app.

Steve Jobs has announced the 'fastest roll out ever' for a new iPhone with the release of the iPhone 4.

1. That new glass, 20 x stronger than plastic, that clever machined chassis forming part of the Ariel, that gorgeous new screen technology that makes AMOLED look out dated, its simply jaw dropping!
