The Sonos Arc Ultra is back down to its Black Friday price — don't miss out on this excellent Dolby Atmos soundbar deal
Fancy upgrading your holiday movie soundtracks? There's a great deal on Sonos' superb soundbar
The Sonos Arc Ultra is the best one-box Dolby Atmos soundbar for the price, but that price is usually rather high. Not this week, though: it's dropped back to its Black Friday price on Amazon, which is offering the Sonos Arc Ultra for $879, down from $1,099. It's also discounted on Amazon UK, down to £799 from the usual £999.
That's a good price for a seriously powerful 9.1.4-channel surround sound setup, and we love the way the Arc Ultra sounds not just for movies but for music too. It's a massive upgrade for any TV and for many existing soundbars too.
Today's best Sonos Arc Ultra deal in the US
We think the Sonos Arc Ultra is the best-sounding single-unit soundbar in this price bracket, with 20% off the list price. It's a stunningly cinematic soundbar with 9.1.4-channel audio, impressive Dolby Atmos audio and all the usual Sonos smarts including multi-room. It's a big improvement on the already impressive Sonos Arc and delivers a surprisingly powerful sound from its relatively compact chassis.
Today's best Sonos Arc Ultra deal in the UK
This is one of our favourite soundbars at full price, and it's even more favourite-r with two hundred quid off – still a premium price, but considerably more affordable than usual. This is a Black Friday kind of deal, and it means you're getting a massive audio upgrade without having to spend a massive amount of money: you'll struggle to find a one-box soundbar that sounds this good for this price.
Why this Sonos soundbar will massively upgrade your audio
In our Sonos Arc Ultra review we said that it was simply the best-sounding one-box soundbar you can buy for the (pre-discounted) price. It delivers powerful bass for something so compact, and it delivers perfectly balanced sound with crystal-clear dialog in movies and TV shows. The Dolby Atmos positioning is convincing too, with great width and height, and precise sound placement. It's incredibly immersive and entertaining.
It's a big improvement over the original too, especially when it comes to music. At this price, it would break back into our list of the best soundbars.
It has inherited one less welcome feature of the original, though: there's no HDMI passthrough. And it doesn't do DTS either, although neither of these omissions is likely to be a deal-breaker for most would-be buyers unless you're really short of HDMI ports already.
There are plenty of upsides. It's a Sonos, so that means full multi-room and app support as well as optional voice control from Alexa or from Sonos's own voice assistant. It integrates really well with Sonos's room-shaking Sub 4. And it delivers a stunningly cinematic audio experience.
We think the Sonos Arc Ultra gives you the best cinematic experience you can get for a single-unit soundbar costing just a smidge under $1,000/£1,000. And with this discount it's even more attractive.
