Sure, Stranger Things this, Bridgerton that. But don't forget about The Boyfriend, Netflix's surprise hit same-sex dating show, the first of its kind from Japan. Now, its second season is about the arrive on the small screen.

At Netflix itself explains, "Ten new queer men from diverse backgrounds will share a home in Hokkaido for roughly two months. In a quiet, snow-covered landscape, they’ll explore who they want to be – and what kind of boyfriend they hope to become.

"On their journey of connection and understanding, they’ll also operate a new coffee truck to bring them even closer together."

Annoyingly, Netflix hasn't confirmed an exact time that any episodes of The Boyfriend season 2 will drop.

With this in mind, common sense tells us the default release time of 12am PT will be in play here, which means internationally, you'll need to keep an eye out for these times:

  • Canada – 12am PT / 3am ET

The Boyfriend season 2 episodes are dropping in four batches until the beginning of February.

The biggest batch is this first one, with six episodes being released in one go. The remaining three batches will each contain three episodes.

  • Episodes 7-9: January 20, 2026
  • Episodes 10-12: January 27, 2026
  • Episodes 13-15 (Finale): February 3, 2026
