Forget about Robin Hood episode 9 — what comes next is a 'major escalation' for season 2
I'm basically talking season 2 into existence
We're two episodes out from the end, but Robin Hood has hands-down been my favorite MGM+ series of 2025. The urban legend has had a complete identity transplant, with a fleshed-out background, family life and inner conscience.
While side characters like Eleanor of Aquitaine (Connie Nielsen) have won favor with me, the action will focus in on Rob (Jack Patten) and Marian (Lauren McQueen) as we near the show's end. Personally speaking, I think episode 9 this week is merely padding for an explosive season finale.
You might think that I should be sad that episode 10 marks the end of a wonderful binge, and you're half right. However, creators Jonathan English and John Glenn have a different way of thinking.
While nothing has been confirmed, the pair have been busy plotting for Robin Hood season 2, and the wheels kick into motion as soon as episode 9. In fact, what comes next is a "total escalation"..
'Definite twists and turns' are heading our way in Robin Hood episode 9 and beyond
"There's absolute potential for a second season," Glenn tells me. "We're already working on it. We don't have a second season to order, but we certainly are working, working on it.
"But in the meantime, you can expect some definite twists and turns, some major escalation. High romance and big romance."
What this means in its entirety I have no idea, but if speaking to star Jack Patten gives me any clue, next week's episode 10 is set to feature a fiery action scene that outshines anything we've previously seen.

"We had a huge action scene in episode 10, and that was the first big action packed scene I've ever done. Your heart is racing from the moment someone says 'action' to when they say 'cut'. And then you've got to do it over and over again... God, you've got to have so much stamina.
"It's a different skill in itself to keep going with that energy. You've got to fill out every single take. It was so good having Lauren (McQueen) there because from a character perspective, Rob's been fighting for Marian and all the way up until that point."
Please let them be together in peace, Amazon... and if not, I'll settle for season 2.
