With Amazon's Spring Deal Days sale happening, we're scouring for the best offers we can find — and it turns out it's the perfect time to finally add that video doorbell to your basket.
One of the biggest caveats with the best video doorbells is that most of the benefits are locked behind a monthly subscription plan, but who wants that? I certainly don't. Luckily, I've spotted three of our favorite subscription-free video doorbells that are great alternatives to Ring's lineup of subscription-based devices.
This small but mighty selection has all the features you need in a simple but effective video doorbell, from HD footage to local storage, all without the catch of a monthly fee. For example, our 4.5-star Eufy Video Doorbell Dual is now £109 (was £199), saving you a decent £90.
In most cases, you'll find that brands will lock features such as enhanced video footage, additional storage, and person and package alerts unless you pay. While the devices below may not be as advanced as their rivals, that doesn't mean they're not good. Instead, they're reliable starting points if you're only just getting started with video doorbells.

As far as EZVIZ's range of video doorbells go, we've yet to be let down by one. But its main selling point is that its best features aren't paywalled. In addition to 32G of storage, it doesn't compromise video quality with its 2K color night vision, and offers a wide 162 degree view. Fancy some more? This video doorbell has an IP65 waterproof rating, so you can trust it to capture footage in wet conditions.
We gave the Eufy Video Doorbell Dual a respectable 4.5 stars for similar reasons. It's another subscription-free option that packs 16GB of storage, producing clear and detailed video footage which you can view from its easy-to-use app. If you receive a lot of packages and want the benefits of facial recognition, Eufy is the model for you.
The Doro Hemma Doorbell has great wireless connectivity with handy features including its siren and assist buttons that are helpful for when unfamiliar faces come knocking. A solid Ring alternative, Doro is a great place to start if you're just getting used to smart home security and want a simple device to get you by — and a £50 discount is a nice addition.
