The Presidents' Day sales are already in fully swing across multiple retailers, and if you're looking for a new gaming monitor you can grab the Samsung Odyssey G93SD OLED at Best Buy for just $999.99 (was $1,699.99).
It's lauded as one of Samsung's best ultrawide monitors, and having used plenty of super-ultrawide displays myself I can certainly vouch for it. Its screen size is 49 inches, with a 240Hz refresh rate, Nvidia G-sync compatibility, and most importantly, an OLED panel.
Both 800R curved regular ultrawides and super ultrawide are the closest you can get to a VR gaming experience without a VR headset – the immersion is truly magnificent. It works best for those who have used 16:9 monitors consistently, as it's a step up for better perspectives in several games, and, if you're lucky, some movies that support the 32:9 aspect ratio.
The Samsung Odyssey G93SD OLED is among the best ultrawide monitors available, providing increased immersion for gaming and streaming, while enhancing productivity with plenty of screen estate. With the contrast that's provided via the OLED technology, image quality is at its finest.
OLED is still undefeated
You may have heard people say that once you go OLED, you can't go back, and that certainly resonates with me. The difference between OLED and regular LED monitors (even mini-LED in some ways) is astonishing, and the difference is clear when you view them side by side.
The backlight bleed on LEDs is mostly evident during darker sequences in games or movies, stripping away image quality and clarity, but with an OLED, there's none of that.
You can enjoy darker scenes with deep black levels without the constraints of backlight bleed, since OLED panels don't use a backlight, making them perfect for horror games, or even productivity cases against darker backgrounds.
