OK before you get excited, this is the older set, albeit with a marginal update — in the form of a USB-C port that does allow USB-C Lossless audio so you can go wired for hi-res audio. Only thing is, you don't get the H2 chips under the hood, and so the uptick in ANC, sonic clarity and Apple Intelligence perks won't be forthcoming. I still think the sound and ANC is well worth it at this fee, but the Max 2 are just that bit better…
