We’ve already seen one fantastic Black Friday Meta Quest 3S deal sell out – don’t miss this one

The Meta Quest 3S is down to £229 at Currys – with John Lewis and Argos matching the £60 saving – and this is close to the best price we’ve ever seen for the Meta Quest 3S. Meanwhile in the US the Meta Quest 3S is still $249 at Walmart – a solid $50 discount, but a deal we’ve seen a few times before.

That UK deal is one to watch however, as it was recently bested by Amazon when it briefly dropped the Quest 3S to £219 thanks to a voucher. Unsurprisingly the deal sold out, and it’s unclear if the discount will return any time soon – which has me worried the current Meta Quest 3S deal isn’t long for this world either. That Amazon discount could return, but even at £229 the Quest 3S is a steal.

While if you're in the US you can’t take advantages of those UK deals, they suggest to me that you might want hold out for a better deal where you are. While there’s a good chance that $249 is the lowest the Quest 3S will go, you may find that the likes of Amazon, Walmart or Target, drop a better limited-time deal in the run-up to Black Friday, or on the big day itself.

Meta Quest 3S: was $299.99 now $249 at Walmart

This Meta Quest 3S deal can also be found at Amazon and Target, and it’s no better than discounts we’ve seen before. I’m not saying it’ll get any better, but if I were you, I’d bookmark this deal and check back every few days as we inch closer to Black Friday proper. It’s unlikely to sell out before the big day itself, and you might get lucky and snag a better discount as a reward for your patience.

Meta Quest 3S: was £289.99 now £229 at Currys

While Amazon had a better Meta Quest 3S deal for a limited time this this John Lewis deal is only £10 pricier which isn't a lot extra to pay (especially as that Amazon deal may not rematerialize anytime soon). You can find the same discount at John Lewis and Argos if you'd prefer to shop at either of those retailers.

The Meta Quest 3S is a very strong VR headset because it hits the sweet spot of price and performance.

Sharing most of the specs of the Meta Quest 3 proper this headset can enjoy all the same top-quality software – including exclusives like Batman: Arkham Shadow and Marvel’s Deadpool VR – as its sibling, and the Quest ecosystem is without a doubt the best standalone VR platform in terms of software breadth.

The downside of the Quest 3S are its displays. The Quest 3 is outfitted with pancake lenses which not only slim down the machine, but also wipe out the blurriness at the fringes that can appear in the Quest 3S's fresnel lenses.

However this visual downgrade isn’t always the biggest problem, and when the Quest 3S is half the price of a Quest 3 it’s a downgrade I’m willing to overlook – and I’m sure most of you will be too.

So if you’re after a Meta Quest 3S deal these are the two to watch – though folks in the US might prefer to wait and see if something better rolls around.
