Pro tip: save on your Prime Day shopping with this neat gift card trick
A little known gift card trick could save you an additional AU$10 on Amazon
You might have heard that Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner, and with less than a week until the major sales event, it’s now a good time to start finding ways to maximise your savings. Here’s one little neat promotion you might not have been aware of, tucked away in Amazon’s often forgotten gift card section, and you’ll need to be quick to nab it as it’s only available for a limited number of Prime members.
From now until 11.59pm AEST on July 13, if you buy AU$150 worth of gift cards, you’ll get an extra AU$10 credit on Amazon when you enter the code GIFTPRIME at checkout. You'll be able to use this credit when purchasing any Prime eligible product. While this might seem like a roundabout way to save, if you were already planning on spending big during Prime Day, you could use Amazon gift cards along with this extra bonus saving to purchase your next prized possession.
This promotion is limited to the first 5,000 Prime members who use the coupon code and, if you’re not a member already, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial to claim this neat little bonus. Additionally, if you don’t find anything to spend your bonus AU$10 credit on during the upcoming sale, you have until 11.59pm AEDT on December 31, 2023 until it expires, so it could also come in handy once Black Friday rolls around as well.

Amazon Echo Dot (5th Gen) | AU$99 AU$49 (save AU$50)
With a massive 50% off, the 5th-gen Amazon Echo Dot has already gone on sale ahead of Prime Day 2023. In our Amazon Echo Dot (5th Gen) review, we found that this smart speaker will give your home easy access to Alexa, Amazon's voice assistant who can help set times, switch songs, make lists or even make phone calls without you needing to lift a finger.
Kindle Scribe (16GB) | AU$549 AU$439 (save AU$110)
As one of the best Kindles, this deal on the Kindle Scribe is not one to miss if you're a book lover who also wants a device to take notes with. While our review found its journaling options to be a bit limited, it still makes some good strides for Kindle devices, boasting a 10.2-inch E Ink screen in an asymmetrical design.
Beats Studio 3 | AU$499 AU$299 (save AU$200)
AU$200 off the Beats Studio 3 headphones is quite the bargain. Not only will you be getting a stunning set of cans that are also comfortable to wear, but they also offer excellent battery life. While the noise cancellation might not be to par with that of Bose or Sony, it's still decent, and the audio's also pretty standard but if that doesn't bother you, then this is a pretty sweet deal, plus it's available across the entire colour range.
Ecovacs Deebot N8 | AU$999 AU$399 (save AU$600)
Coming down to its lowest yet again, the Ecovacs Deebot N8 has picked up a massive discount of AU$600 ahead of Prime Day. With both vacuuming and mopping powers built in, you'll be able to kick your feet up and let this little robovac keep your floors shiny and clean.
Sony XR55X90K 4K LCD TV | AU$1,495 AU$1,194 (save AU$301)
As one of Sony's premium mid-range TVs, this deal on the 2022 Sony XR55X90K TV is a decent bargain. With an impressive image at this price with some excellent sound too, it's an easy to use TV as well thanks to easy navigation with the Google TV OS.
