Cyber Monday Meta Quest 3 and 3S deals are live – but they're selling out quickly, so act fast or you could miss out
You can still save on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets
It took a while for great deals on the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S to materialize this Black Friday – and when they did many of them duly sold out. But that doesn't mean Cyber Monday is a complete wash – because there are still some great deals available.
In the US, for instance, you can still grab a Meta Quest 3S and you’ll not only save $50-off full-price (now $249.99), but also get a free $50 Best Buy gift card (and a free The Walking Dead video game).
We wouldn't advise waiting too long if you like the look of this, though, because we can't guarantee how long this will hang around for. After all, Best Buy had a Meta Quest 3 deal that also gave you a $75 gift card, but that's now ended. And on Ebay, meanwhile, its offer of $140 off a refurbished Quest 3 is now marked as sold out.
For folks in the UK it looks like deals are lasting a little longer. The Meta Quest 3S is down to £229 at Currys, while the Meta Quest 3 proper is £444.99 at Argos (a whole £20 off, which isn't big but isn't nothing).

Also in the UK, you should keep you eyes peeled for a deal lke the one Amazon briefly dropped before Black Friday, which brought the Quest 3S down to just £219 thanks to a voucher. It sold out quickly but might return today for Cyber Monday.

Free $50 gift card
Most retailers will give you $50-off the Meta Quest 3S, some will give you a free game with your purchase, but only Best Buy will give you a $50 Best Buy gift card as well as the game. This is the best deal we’ve seen the whole Black Friday/Cyber Monday period.

This Meta Quest 3 deal isn't the biggest, but it is the best deal I've spotted from a reputable retailer this Cyber Monday. I love my Meta Quest 3 and think it's well worth the higher price, though a cheaper Quest 3S is hard to ignore...

While Amazon had a better Meta Quest 3S deal for a limited time, this Currys deal is only £10 pricier, which isn't a lot extra to pay (especially as that Amazon deal may not rematerialize anytime soon). You can find the same discount at John Lewis and Argos if you'd prefer to shop at either of those retailers.
This Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S are the best, and second-best VR headsets out there for most folks.
Hardware-wise, they are both impressive devices with very similar solid specs. Their RAM and Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipsets are powerful enough to play the full suite of HorizonOS software we have at our disposal – including exclusives like Batman: Arkham Shadow and Marvel’s Deadpool VR – and they're both only a little over 500g which makes them fairly comfortable over exteded play sessions (I've use them for hours on end just fine).
But their real winning factor is the HorizonOS platform. The Quest ecosystem is, without a doubt, the best standalone VR platform in terms of software breadth, as anything you want to do in VR is very likely possible on Quest. The same can't be said for its rivals.
The difference between the headsets (other than price) is their displays. The Quest 3 is outfitted with pancake lenses, which not only slim down the machine but also wipe out the blurriness at the fringes that can appear in the Quest 3S's fresnel lenses.
That said, considering the Quest 3S is currently around half the price of the Quest 3 in both the US and UK, this downgrade can be easy to ignore, and right now, while I usually would give the Quest 3 the win, I can see the argument that the Quest 3S is in fact the world's best VR headset.
