I'm a trained barista, and these are my top 12 Christmas gifts for coffee lovers
Turn their kitchen into a coffee house with tools they'll use every day
Coffee isn't just a drink, it's a hobby, and there's virtually no limit to the number of tools and accessories available to help brew the perfect cup. Chosen carefully, the right ones can make a perfect gift, so I've put together this list of 12 that I'd be delighted to unwrap on Christmas Day as TechRadar's resident coffee expert.
Before you make your choice, find out exactly what kind of coffee your home barista enjoys making. If they're into espresso then something like a rubber tamping mat will help protect their kitchen counters, and a knock box will make it easy for them to ditch used coffee grounds without making a giant mess.
If they already own both of those, you can't go far wrong with good-quality tools for creating a perfect coffee puck. A WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tool uses fine needles to break up clumps and create an even bed of coffee ready for tamping.
If they prefer filter coffee, and are rarely seen in the kitchen without their trusty V60 dripper (the one shaped like a cone) then a digital V60 coffee scale would be a lovely gift, helping them get exactly the right amount of coffee and water every time. It would go perfectly with a V60 coffee server, which will give them a stylish way to pour their finished brew.
To help you make the right choice, each product in this guide is from a brand I trust and use in my own kitchen. They aren't necessarily the cheapest options around, but they should all give the coffee-lover in your life many years of happy brewing.

I'm an SCA-certified barista, and test over a dozen coffee makers each year here at TechRadar. I love both drip coffee and espresso, but personally I think it's tough to beat a good latte macchiato made with love (and nice chocolately arabica beans).
