We expected an Apple Watch Ultra 3 reveal last year, but the manufacturer kept quiet and has launched the new and improved wearable this year instead, marking a more significant upgrade compared to the jump from the original Ultra to the Ultra 2.
The headline upgrades in the Apple Watch Ultra 3 are the largest-ever display, thin border, wider viewing angle and unique 3D printed design with recycled titanium. In terms of features, there's the introduction of watchOS 26, which brings personalized workout info, gesture controls, and a fresh design. You also get satellite connectivity, with emergency satellite SOS included as standard, alongside an improved GPS and up to 42 hours of battery life.
It also carries a lot of features found in other new Apple Watch models, such as hypertension notifications, fast charging support, 5G connectivity, and the new Sleep Score feature that gives you a more complete understanding of your sleep and offers ways to improve it.
It's all looking like it could be a great buy for the fitness or adventure enthusiast, but we won't know for sure until we get some proper hands-on time with the wearable. The new Apple Watch range wasn't the only tech announced in the latest Apple event. It was a very busy affair, including the reveal of the iPhone 17 series, featuring the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and stunning iPhone 17 Air. There was also the AirPods Pro 3.
