This top-rated budget gaming laptop with an RTX 5050 just dropped to $579 at Walmart
Walmart has proved once again that it's the bringer of the best budget gaming laptops. You can get this Acer Nitro V with an RTX 5050 for $579 (was $929).
The Acer Nitro V has been our best budget gaming laptop for multiple years in a row. Our last review scored this model four out of five stars, partly because of strong budget rivals in the current market. But for less than $580, its combination of an Intel Core i5 CPU, RTX 5050, and a 165Hz refresh rate display makes it a standout deal for gamers on a budget.
Today's best budget gaming laptop deal
The Acer Nitro V is a tried-and-true budget gaming laptop that we've loved for years. This model comes with an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, RTX 5050, and a 165Hz refresh rate display, all of which help to boost its image quality and 1080p performance above competitors at around the same price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD are standard as well for the price and well-suited to playing most games and undemanding titles at medium settings at least. At this low, low price of $579, it's tough to beat.
The Acer Nitro V has had many iterations, including this one with the Intel Core i5-13420H and RTX 5050 from Nvidia's latest GPU series. This is the 15-inch model with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, which is enough to handle the latest games at modest settings.
In our Acer Nitro V 15 review, we highlighted the display quality and excellent 1080p performance for the price. It seems like your average LCD at first glance, but our reviewer noted brighter and more vibrant colors than seen in competitors around the same price.
Just note that, while the Acer Nitro V has delivered reasonable performance at even the base configuration, our review model featured an Intel i7 instead of an i5 and an RTX 5060 instead of the RTX 5050, so expect slightly lower performance as a result, but still more than capable of mid-level gaming on a budget.
The Acer Nitro V is just one of the best gaming laptops. If you're curious for more, you could also browse our guides to the best budget laptops and best laptops for gaming and work.
