I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn that, as TechRadar's reviews editor, my go-bag is crammed full of gadgets. Part of that is that I'm lucky to get to test some really exciting tech. The other, more substantial part is that I'm a high-tech hoarder who can't bear to leave the house without all the hardware I could possibly need throughout the day.
So here's my run-down of all of the tech I carry with me on a daily basis, coupled with more than a few fantastic President's Day discounts I've found on my faves.
First off, I can't go anywhere without my MacBook Pro, as it's an essential tool for creating on the go, especially if you make music, movies or art. Given I've owned mine for a long while now, the model I use is no longer available – but the MacBook Air M4 13-inch offers far more power and speed for creators, while coming in a slimmer package, so I've recommended this as a suitable alternative.
Another gadget that weighs next to nothing but is an essential tool for unlocking my creativity is my Kindle Scribe, allowing me to read, take notes and settle in for novel writing sessions whenever the mood takes me.
Now, having a good pair of headphones wherever you go is essential. But I prefer to be prepared to an absurd degree, which is why I take two good pairs, each for different circumstances.
The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 have wonderful balance and the big, soundstage that makes listening to tunes or making music on the above Macbook a breeze. Meanwhile, the Sony WF-1000XM5 are a feature-crammed, bassy little pair of buds that are an essential backup when I don't want the bulk of over-ears or their battery runs dry.
If I'm going to be on the go all day or hitting the gym, I also like to be sure that I'm tracking dem gainz, which is why you'll always find the Apple Watch Ultra 2 strapped to my wrist, as it does an excellent job of tracking my workouts and health.
In light of that, do I really need to also wear the Oura Ring 3? Absolutely. As I recently discovered when I tried out three sleep trackers to see if they could detect my sleep apnea, Oura's tracker is head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to logging my rest.
Life isn't all about working on projects or working out though. My Nintendo Switch 2 is invaluable in staving off boredom on long trips, giving me access to a bunch of exclusive titles and increasing numbers of third-party titles to boot.
And given its ephemeral battery life, it's worth upgrading it with the Belkin Charging Case Pro, which keeps it safe from damage and charges it up at the same time.
