Swindon has been chosen as the UK's first 'free Wi-Fi' town, with the destination to be equipped with a £1 million wireless network.

Called the 'Swindon mesh', the Wi-Fi network will contain 1,400 access points, distributed around the city to give residents complete access to an internet signal for free.
