The Honor 20 is here and the live stream launch event revealed everything about the Honor 20. It was exciting with stunning new cameras shown off to set a new level for phone photography. Read on to catch it all.
When is the Honor 20 launch?
It happened on Tuesday May 21 in London.
The Honor 20 is here after a big reveal of the new design and camera focused smartphones.
The result is a triple layer rear which makes for a diamond like finish that's totally unique. But the advanced developments don't stop there. This houses a stunning 6.26-inch display that spans edge-to-edge thanks to a punch hole style front facing camera.
To keep that screen clear the fingerprint sensor has been placed on the side power button for quick unlocking without screen smear.
But the real pull here is that stunning quad camera on the Honor 20. Yup, this beast packs in a 48MP f/1.8 main camera along with a 16MP f/2.2 aperture, 117° SuperWide Angle Camera, 2MP DepthAssist Camera and a 2MP Macro Camera all under one roof. Along with an amazing 32MP selfie camera in that punchole on the front.
The 48MP AI quad camera lets you snap photos with extreme clarity during the day, especially with the AI Ultra Clarity mode. Then the Dual-NPU and the Dual-ISP of the 7nm Kirin 980 AI chipset collate the best details from each of these photos into one "Super 48MP Photo" with its quality surpassing normal 48MP pictures.
Another new feature that's changing the way phones connect is what Honor calls Super Bluetooth. This offers a whopping 265 metre range thanks to the Hi1103 chip. In real-world use that gave a 244 metre range when connected to Beats X in-earphones while, by comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ managed 151 metres and the iPhone XS Max topped out at 121 metres.
The Honor 20 will have a decent 3,750mAh battery which will support 22.5W fast-charging.
The Honor 20 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is €499, a launch date is yet to be revealed.
