Google boss teases Nexus S handset, confirms Android 2.3

The Gingerbread OS will hit some Android smartphones before Christmas

Google CEO Eric Schmidt gave the tech world a sneak preview of the successor to the Google Nexus One handset today, while confirming that the Android 2.3 OS it runs off will be rolled-out within weeks.

The device, which is rumoured to be called the Nexus S, has a curved candybar format with an AMOLED screen and will support NFC tech, which will turn your handset into a digital wallet
