An easy way to get a free iPhone 17e — this deal at Total Wireless doesn't even require a trade-in
A free phone on a reasonably priced plan - and, no trade-ins needed
Got your eye on the new iPhone 17e but have been waiting for the perfect deal? More and more carriers are starting to stock this excellent mid-range flagship, including some fantastic prepaid choices.
One of the best options right now has to be Total Wireless' current deal on the iPhone 17e, which can, if you're a new customer, get you the device for free without having to trade in.
Firstly, the upfront cost of the device has been slashed down to just $299, effectively saving you $300 right off the bat. On top of that, you'll also get a $25/mo rebate if you pair the device with a line on the higher-end Total 5G+ Unlimited plan. That rebate lasts for a full year, so after 12 months, you'll have the entire cost of the device covered.
The Total 5G+ Unlimited plan is definitely a great option for most people, too. Alongside completely unlimited 5G data, you also get mobile hotspot, Disney+ Premium, and your fourth line free if you're looking for a multi-line family setup.

What's new with the iPhone 17e?
- Same A19 chipset as the iPhone 17
- Magsafe support
- Upgraded wireless charging
- Now starts with 256GB of storage
The brand new iPhone 17e starts at $599 / £599, which is the same price as the previous model. That makes sense when you consider it's a relatively iterative generation, but there are actually quite a few upgrades under the hood that make it a better value device.
The biggest upgrade? The new A19 chipset, which is the same processor that the standard iPhone 17 uses. As you'd imagine, that gives you a respectable amount of power on tap here - more than any other mid-range phone right now.
Perhaps the other single biggest upgrade for the iPhone 17e is that the device has been bumped up from 128GB storage to 256GB on the baseline model - quite impressive considering the price is the same. Other quality of life improvements include improved wireless charging speeds, MagSafe support, and up-to-date camera modes.
