Las gafas de Apple que un día reemplazarán tu iPhone llegarán pronto

El reputado analista Ming-Chi Kuo — que suele dar en el clavo siempre — dice que Apple lanzará unas nuevas gafas de realidad mixta y realidad virtual a mediados de 2022. 

El experto en la cadena de suministro de Apple afirma en una nota a inversores que, dada la complejidad del producto, se apunta a un precio superior a los 1.000 dólares.

Según Kuo, el auricular ofrecerá experiencias de realidad aumentada y realidad virtual. La experiencia de realidad aumentada usará vídeo para mezclar la realidad con lo virtual. Todo el contenido se mostrará en pantallas micro LED. De hecho, según Kuo la realidad aumentada y mixta serán el eje central del producto.

Avante a toda máquina

Igual que el Oculus Quest 2, el rumor es que el auricular de Apple es un dispositivo independiente que no necesita estar conectado a un Mac o a un teléfono celular para funcionar.

Según Kuo, Apple está apostando por la comodidad. Según el informe, los prototipos existentes apenas pesan 200-300 gramos, pero la empresa quiere reducirlos aún más para el lanzamiento comercial. Su objetivo, afirma Kuo, son de 100 a 200 gramos,

Kuo afirma que las gafas de realidad mixta de Apple ofrecerán una imagen de mucha mayor resolución y frecuencia de refresco que los productos de realidad virtual existente. Es una afirmación arriesgada, dado el rápido aumento de la calidad de los cascos de realidad virtual en la actualidad. Kuo también dice que Apple TV+ y Apple Arcade tendrán un gran protagonismo en el producto.

Éste no será el único par de gafas que Apple Apple está preparando, algo que ya sabíamos. Pero Kuo dice ahora que la empresa está planeando sacar las segundas — un producto de realidad aumentada — en 2025 y unas lentes de contacto con una funcionalidad similar para la próxima década. Esto último, sin embargo, parece más bien pura especulación en estos momentos.
