The best deals in New Zealand this week
This 43-inch LED TV has 4K resolution, HDR and a 50Hz refresh rate, as well as 7 years of software support. It's not the fanciest TV but for just over NZ$500, this one's hard to pass up.
This classic stick vacuum from Dyson is the company’s most affordable model and this discount makes it even more tempting for anyone looking to upgrade to a modern stick vacuum. While this doesn’t have the latest and greatest tech, it’ll still do the basics quite adequately. With up to 40 minutes of fade free suction, it can easily clean hard floors, carpets and more. It can also be used as a compact handheld vacuum, making it easy to access hard to reach spaces.
This is Ninja’s first go at making a coffee machine, proving to be a hit among Ninja fans and professional reviewers alike. The Luxe Café Premier is a 3-in-1 machine that brews quality espresso, drip coffee, and fast cold brew using its Barista Assist technology, an integrated grinder, and weight-based dosing. This discount for a well-received espresso machine should make this even more tempting for any coffee lover looking to upgrade their home barista setup.
This security camera features 2K resolution, good night vision, an IP67 rating and best of all, it supports local storage so you won't need to pay an extra subscription. This is also one of the few security cameras that supports Apple HomeKit. This discount makes this 2-pack an even better deal considering that the eufycam 2C Pro doesn't require ongoing costs.
This top-spec laptop from HP has a touchscreen OLED display in 3K resolution that's great for media consumption, while also powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. It's still a pricey laptop, but this discount for a device spec'd like this will be a bargain as the RAM and storage shortage will start to make tech more expensive.
Other deals still available
Dyson's V10 stick vacuum got a refresh last month, adding the new conical floorhead and making it compatible with the company's self-emptying dock. A discount like this for a brand-new Dyson is an easy Mother's Day win.
This gaming laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 7 chipset, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU and a whopping 32GB of DDR5 RAM. At a time of RAM and storage shortages, a discount for a laptop with these specs is hard to overlook.
This air fryer is perfect for those who love to cook for a crowd, thanks to its massive 9.5L capacity. The two trays will also let you cook two foods at once. This 40% discount is worth considering for a mum (or otherwise) who loves to cook a lot in one go.
Yes, New Zealand generally has great air quality, but dust, pet dander, smoke and other irritants are still going to impact households anywhere. This air purifier from Shark has a HEPA filter that can last 5 years before needing a replacement, and can also cover up to 23 square metres. This discount would make this an easy recommendation for most households.
This stick vacuum from Dyson introduced the company’s laser light feature to help illuminate dirt on floors, helping users measure how much was cleaned. Along with very powerful suction and benefitting from a well-designed and high quality build, this premium vacuum is a steal thanks to this discount.
This Lenovo laptop is already an affordable option with a great IPS touchscreen display and solid battery life, and this discount makes the Yoga Slim 7i even more tempting. Check out our full review here.
The LG C5 is our favourite TV here at TechRadar, thanks to its excellent picture quality and competitive price point. This size would make it more suited for gaming, and the 144Hz refresh rate makes it even better for that use case. This discount makes this TV a hard one to pass up if you don't need a full-sized for your living room.
Can't wait for the official HBO Max launch in NZ this year to watch the new Harry Potter TV series? Perhaps this discounted Hogwarts Lego set would tide you over in the meantime. This 6,020-piece set will keep you busy enough until the HBO Max launch, and it looks great in person, too.
We call the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 "unequivocally the best mainline Galaxy Watch in ages" thanks to its new design and advanced health, sleep and AI features. Use the code MUM26 at checkout to get this price.
If you're in the market for new AirPods but don't want the in-ear design of the AirPods Pros (or if you're on a budget), PBTech has the 4th generation Apple earbuds on sale. They're great sounding, secure and comfortable to wear even without the eartips. The ANC version is also discounted at NZ$294.
The name points to its extremely compact form factor that packs everything inside the handle – a tube that measures just 3.8cm in diameter, roughly the same size as a ping pong ball. It might sacrifice some suction power, so it’s not suited for cleaning carpets, but it is very nimble and manoeuvrable when used on hard floors. A discount like this for a newly released and innovative Dyson vacuum is tempting for those with smaller spaces with hard floors.
This large screen 2-in-1 laptop from HP uses a latest-generation Intel Series 2 Core Ultra 5 226 CPU for solid performance and long battery life. The 16-inch touchscreen IPS display has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, and there’s a whopping 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage plus the latest features like Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4 and a facial recognition webcam. This 35% discount for a powerful Windows laptop is worth snapping up before RAM and storage shortages start to impact prices on devices like these soon.
Our most recommended air fryer for most people is a cool NZ$200 off direct from Ninja, making the DoubleStack XXXL hard to pass up if you’re looking to pick up a model that can feed a plethora of mouths. An innovative design makes this 9.5L air fryer to fit into smaller spaces better than others with the same capacity, and our testing has found that its more compact size hasn’t affected the quality of cooking in any meaningful way.
If you’ve been curious about Samsung’s smartwatches to pair with your Galaxy handset but don’t want to spend loads, this previous-generation Watch7 might be for you. The watch is zippy and feature-filled, while also looking like a traditional watch thanks to its sleek, circular design with no visible bezels. With the Watch8 still at around NZ$600, this deal is hard to pass up.
We named this sit/stand desk as one of our most recommended thanks to its built-in power and cable management. The major downside from our review was the price, so this discount should address that concern somewhat if you're looking to upgrade your gaming or WFH setup.
Apple's latest noise-cancelling buds represent a significant upgrade from the AirPods Pro 2, but at full price they’re significantly more expensive. This discount takes care of that nicely (although if you're a Pro 2 user it's not worth the upgrade). New features in this model include a heart-rate monitor and even better ANC than before. I personally also think they're the best-fitting AirPods Apple has made to date.
This video doorbell from Amazon subsidiary Ring is the company's entry-level offering that still offers features like head-to-toe HD video and colour night vision. This does require a paid subscription to unlock some features, but this discount should partly address some of that concern.
HP is discounting a slew of laptops and peripherals for its EOFY sale in New Zealand, and this 14-inch OmniBook 3 caught my eye not only due to the 36% off discount, but also for its hardware. For NZ$1,599, getting a Ryzen 7-powered laptop with 16GB of DDR5 RAM is a steal given the current RAM shortage. It’s a great Windows 11 laptop that would suit any student or remote/hybrid office worker.
While ice cream is usually synonymous with summer and hot weather, I personally find it’s still an enjoyable treat all-year round, so this deal for Ninja’s Creami ice cream maker should be right up your alley if you’re just like me. Our review found it makes creamy and smooth frozen desserts, and also does dairy-free ice cream well. At full price it is tricky to outright recommend, but this deal should make it a bit more tempting.
If you’re looking to step up your cooking repertoire, this food processor from Ninja has a powerful 1,000W motor that can easily mix dough, slice food, puree soups and more. It's also a compact gadget, yet is supplied with a large 2L jug for extra capacity. This discount makes this food processor a great option for uni students on a tight budget.
This TV from Samsung aims to be more of a fashion-forward addition to your living space rather than a conventional 4K TV. Samsung’s The Frame has a burnished metal frame, encasing the LCD panel and various vents along the sides, which makes the TV look just like a slim picture frame when mounted on a wall. This TV came out a few years ago, hence the relatively steep discount, but if this TV is up your alley then this deal might just be tempting enough.
This 2-in-1 MagSafe-compatible charger from Ugreen allows you to simultaneously charge your iPhone (from 12 series and up) and your AirPods (or other earbuds and accessories that support wireless charging). The phone charger is rated at 7.5W and the bottom charger is at 5W, but Ugreen says using a charging adapter of at least 25W (sold separately) would further maximise charging efficiency. For any discerning Apple fan, this deal makes this charger hard to pass up.
Whether you’re looking to monitor your energy use or just want to remotely turn your devices on or off, these smart plugs from Meross are a great introduction to turning your house into a smart home. These plugs are also compatible with Alexa and Google Home, making them easy to integrate into an existing smart home setup, too. A single plug isn’t discounted at NZ$24.30, making this 2-pack a much better deal.
If you’re a frequent traveller or if you’re just looking to have a single charging brick for all your smaller tech, this three-port 65W charger from Ugreen delivers fast charging even with all three slots taken. Our reviewer wasn’t a fan of its looks and the fact that the prongs aren’t foldable (a limitation of using GaN technology), but for this price, I’m sure those are minor enough to overcome for most of you.
With more storage, a brighter screen and wireless charging, the Paperwhite Signature Edition is arguably the best-value Kindle in our opinion. Plus, you can grab it in the Amazon-exclusive Jade colour at this discounted price.
Want to read in colour? The Kindle Colorsoft is one of the best ereaders with a colour display, even offering a feature to make the hues more vivid. As noted in our Kindle Colorsoft review, once you experience a colour ereader of the Colorsoft's quality, it's hard to go back.
Kindles are known for their reading capabilities, but with the Kindle Scribe, you get that and more. With a wide range of writing features, you can take notes, create sketches and brainstorm. We loved its 10.2-inch glare-free screen that has its own ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness automatically, as well as its battery life.
The Shokz OpenRun are some of the best bone conduction sports headphones you can buy. They deliver great sound quality and a slim design, with improved an improved eight hour battery life. If you want to run and remain aware of your surroundings, these are what you want. Hurry – stock is limited.
It's not a huge discount but the JBL Flip 7 outperforms its predecessor (which is also discounted and listed higher on this page), getting a full five stars in our review. The sound is a lot punchier than before and that's without compromising details across the range. It even gets a bigger battery to last you up to 16 hours and makes a case for itself at a very good price indeed. Available in various colours at this price. Members save NZ$5 more.
This ergonomic vertical mouse is perfect for small hands and it encourages better posture, thus reducing aches along the wrist, shoulder and shoulder blade. I use it myself (I have the white colourway) and can't recommend it highly enough, even at full price.
The X-E5 is a far cry from the budget options that used to be in the X-E range. It upgrades to a 40.2MP APS-C sensor, shoots at up to 20fps in burst mode with a 66-shot RAW buffer, and the sensor is stabilised too. If you like the rangefinder look, this is one heck of a compact package that you will need to buy a lens for.
It's been cheaper than this before, but this is still a fantastic saving on an excellent Nikon full-framer. The 24.6MP sensor can shoot at up to 120fps, records 6K video, has built-in image stabilisation and has dual card slots, including one for a CFexpress device to make full use of its speed.
"One of the most fun cameras I've ever used" is how our tester described it in our Insta360 Go 3S review. Its tiny build and easy magnetic mounting provide unique hands-free angles and offers great 4K video. Its Action Pod expands its functionality even further, but no deals are currently available on that kit – and it's a great pick up all on its own.
By now you probably already own GTA 5, and given it's sold over 200 million copies you're in good company. But just in case, you can grab it for PS5 or Xbox for one of the cheapest prices we have seen. If you've somehow never heard of GTA 5 at all, then rest assured there are plenty of good reasons why people are still buying it today.
Bright, easy to use and even more easily expanded, the Philips Hue lightstrip is the go-to LED light strip for a reason. Pairing it with the Hue Bridge unlocks its true power, and it's a clean way to add accent lighting to any surface, with a range of brightness and colour options to choose from.
Want to make your home movies more immersive? This Govee backlight and camera system effectively extends the on-screen image beyond its bezelled confines and accurately tracks colours and flashes to the wall behind. It can also sync with music to dance along to your favourite tunes. Note that this is designed for 55 to 65-inch TVs.
There is excellent value for money here as this one tool will take care of hair anywhere on the body. It comes with 15 attachments and offers 26 hair length settings. Its battery life also promises to be just as good – up to 4 weeks on a single charge. It also happens to be waterproof.
