The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots meet in the Super Bowl – that's America's equivalent of the Grey Cup, in case you were wondering – this weekend. It's the biggest fixture of the NFL season – the American version of the CFL – and this is the first time since 2015 that the Seahawks have reached the title game.

You know all of this, of course, but what you perhaps don't know is that season's Grey Cup saw the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who play in green, beat the Montreal Alouettes, who play in red, white and blue, 25-17 to win their first championship since 2013. The Seahawks play in green, the Patriots in red, white and blue. The Seahawks last won the Super Bowl in 2013...

If you believe in omens, that's either a pretty good one or a pretty bad one. What makes this matchup especially fascinating is the contrasting journeys that the respective quarterbacks have taken to get here.

At just 23 years old, Drake Maye could leave Levi's Stadium as the youngest ever Super Bowl-winning starting quarterback, while 28-year-old Sam Darnold could complete one of the all-time great career turnarounds, having spent the past several years unloved and unwanted, being passed around like a sickness.
