A truly stunning laptop with the power to inspire
How do you make a top-rated ultraportable laptop even better? By adding a Nvidia graphics, of course! Lenovo’s Intel-powered Yoga range has been knocking it out of the park with its Gen 10 Slim laptops and 2-in-1 ultraportables, all year, but there’s a similarly sized sibling whose discreet GPU makes it perfect for Creators (and even casual gamers) on the move.
The 10th Generation 16-inch Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition imagined with Intel is more than a business and productivity laptop, it can do it all. Should you buy it? If you’re a creator looking for the power to unleash your talents, then do read on…
Premium Portability
As with all Yogas, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10 both looks and feels great because it’s been built brilliantly. The sandblasted, anodised-aluminium body (lid and chassis) looks classy, is inherently rigid and robust and yet is just shy of 18mm thick. You can also choose an au naturel Luna Grey finish or add a subtle tint of Tidal Teal.
Depending on the model you choose, it weighs a smidge either side of 2KG and yet packs in a large 84Wh battery that lets it last up to 14 hours away from the mains. If you need a top-up, its rapid recharge technology can provide a three-hour charge in just 15 minutes. It’s one seriously portable ultraportable.
Premium Power
The Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10 features top-tier components. There’s Intel’s Core™ Ultra 9 285H processor with its six Performance Cores, eight Efficient Cores and two Low Power Efficient Cores (that operate between 1- 5.4GHz). Plus, there’s Nvidia’s GeForce RTX AI-fuelled graphics chip which comes in both 5060 and 5070 flavours.
These open the door to incredible creative power in the ultraportable space – whether you’re working on 3D graphic design, 4k/8k video editing, CAD or video rendering. That’s the power of Lenovo with Intel Inside®! Don’t tell the boss, but it also has impressive gaming chops, which are further enhanced with Nvidia AI technologies like DLSS 4 for frame generation and upscaling performance boosts.
The processors are partnered by up to 64GB of ultra-fast, LPDDR5x-8400 RAM and a quick, 1TB NVMe SSD (there’s also room for a second). Sometimes you need to remind yourself that it’s an ultraportable.
X Factor
This facet is not lost on Lenovo – you can’t just put the best components in a thin-and-light chassis and expect them to work well without overheating and crashing. As such the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10 features Lenovo X Power technology to maintain top performance (130-Watt TDP) when performing heavy workloads. It ensures that all components, including the processor, GPU, RAM and SSD, operate in harmony with the cooling technology to minimise noise and thermal throttling, avoid overheating and ultimately maximise efficiency within the thin, ultraportable chassis.
It's also fine-tuned to accelerate workflows by ensuring that hardware and software work harmoniously together when specific tasks like 3D design, complex video editing and multitasking are auto-detected.
Enhanced Ergonomics
The screens on Lenovo’s Yoga line are among the best on the market, and that’s what you can expect on the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10. The HDR, anti-glare, X-Rite factory-calibrated, PureSight Pro Colour Accurate OLED screens are available with a high 2880 x 1800 resolution, or an even-higher-resolution, super-bright, 1,000-nit (1,600-nit peak!) 3200 x 2000 touchscreen. They support 100 percent of the tricky DCI-P3 colour gamut and have a Delta-E of <1 to satisfy the most demanding elements of the target creative audience. Oh, and it has a fast, 120Hz refresh rate to ensure fast-moving objects are rendered without annoying blurring.
Above it is a 5-megapixel webcam and quad-microphone array (with 3D noise cancellation) for top-tier web-conferencing (plus Windows Hello facial recognition). Below the screen is one of Lenovo’s legendary keyboards (replete with number pad). It’s been coated to resist oil and water, and its special ‘dish’ keycaps and switches have been tuned to for comfort, precision, efficiency and responsiveness. The large trackpad has been built with comfort and durability in mind making it a perfect partner for all-day designing.
Despite the svelte chassis, Lenovo has somehow crammed in six speakers: two 2-Watt tweeters and four 2-Watt side woofers, to produce loud, punchy and well-rounded audio for both multimedia content creation and consumption.
Increased I/O
Some rivals eschew basic connectivity for simplistic USB-C ports that, in the real world, are often incredibly limiting: travelling professionals and hot-deskers regularly need to connect to external projectors and screens with legacy ports while creative workers require rapid connections to cameras and storage media to avoid media transfer-related delays.
To address these requirements, the Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10’s slight chassis features two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, a full-sized SD card reader and an HDMI 2.1 port. There’ll be no fumbling-around for lost dongles here. This connectivity complement also means you can add up-to three external screens for additional multitasking and productivity boosts.
Inside there’s bleeding-edge Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 and wireless connectivity. The latter facilitates wireless UHD video editing using a NAS attached to a fast Wi-Fi network.
An augmented Aura AI PC
The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10 has been imagined with Intel, to produce a laptop that’s uncompromising in its AI PC augmentations. These include the AI power to run Microsoft’s CoPilot+ feature-set; Smart Share for tap-to-share mobile device file transfers (plus the ability to send and receive text messages on your laptop); Shield Mode to both protect your network connection and shield your screen from snoopers; web-conferencing augmentations for improved meeting equity; Attention Mode to block distracting apps for limited periods; adjustable Power Modes to dynamically enhance performance as required; and Wellness Mode to protect you from eye fatigue and promote positive posture.
Extra extras
On top of all that, there’s also Smart Care for 24/7 support should any issues arise, a full set of matching accessories (that include a laptop sleeve, earbuds and mini mouse) and a two-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud.
Ultimately, if you want to buy a laptop for whatever purpose, the ‘imagined with Intel’ Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition Gen 10 needs to be seriously considered. However, for many mobile creatives who want to take their workflows to the next level, it should be near the very top of your list. Click here to buy yours right now.
