  • A leaker has shared what they claim are full specs for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series
  • The only major change appears to just be a chipset upgrade
  • Samsung fans are already voicing their disappointment

At this point we have a good idea of what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, with most leaks now being in agreement – and a massive new specs leak again suggests that not much will be changing from last year.

WinFuture has shared full specs for the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and at a glance you might struggle to see much difference between the upcoming phones the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.

In the case of the Galaxy S26, it apparently has a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1080 x 2340 resolution, an Exynos 2600 chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 4,300mAh battery with 25W charging, a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP front-facing camera.

It’s also said to be 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm, weigh 167g, and to be available in white, blue, black, and violet shades. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2mm and 162g, so that would make the new phone marginally taller, narrower, and heavier.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, that’s said to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1440 x 3120 resolution, plus a 4,900mAh battery with 45W charging, and the same cameras, chipset, colors, RAM, and storage as the standard Galaxy S26.

This phone apparently comes in at 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g, compared to the 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra apparently has a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1440 x 3120 resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 60W charging, a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom, a 50MP periscope camera with 5x zoom, and a 12MP front-facing camera.

This too will apparently come in white, blue, black, and violet shades, which is odd, since Samsung usually sells Ultra phones in a different selection of colors to the other models – so WinFuture might be wide of the mark there. It’s said to be 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm and 214g, compared to the 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and 218g Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The leak also claims that all three phones have an IP68 rating for water resistance, and that none of them offer magnetic charging – which is in contrast to early leaks that suggested they might have magnets built in.

New chipsets and more charging power

So what’s actually changing this year? Well, based on this leak the main upgrade is simply a new chipset, but the standard model also reportedly has a higher capacity battery than its 4,000mAh predecessor, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra supposedly has more charging power than the 45W of the S25 Ultra.

Samsung has also seemingly ditched the 128GB capacity for the standard model, and the Ultra is said to have slightly larger apertures for some of its cameras, which WinFuture says suggests the use of a new camera chip – so perhaps it will be able to take slightly better photos.

But that’s about it for changes, making these phones, based on this leak at least, very similar to last year’s – and the internet isn’t impressed. On Reddit, one user noted that “every year they swap the SOC for a new one and offer new colors,” with another saying “I can't believe they got away with reusing the same design since S21 with minor changes to the rear camera design, Samsung makes even Apple look innovative.”

One user concisely summed the situation up as “bit of a snooze fest,” and one suggested they’re giving up on Samsung, saying “time to switch brand.”

Those are just a few of many such comments, so it’s clear that Samsung fans aren’t happy – though it will be interested to see whether many do indeed switch brand or not. If you’re among those unhappy at this news, you might want to consider a Chinese phone, as many of those are packed full of tech and innovation.

If, however, you still have your sights set on one of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series phones, the company is launching them on February 25.
