OnePlus has finally unveiled the OnePlus Ace in China yesterday during an event. The smartphone is the first in the industry to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 Max SoC. It is expected to launch in India next week rebranded as the OnePlus 10R.

A report by GSMArena said it confirms many of the speculations that the OnePlus Ace is a rebranded version of the GT Neo 3 since it shares many of the same features and specifications too. While the OnePlus 10 Pro launched with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, the OnePlus Ace would be the first device in the lineup to get Oppo’s 150W fast charging tech.

The OnePlus Ace features a 6.7-inch 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display with a centre punch-hole cutout at the top for the front-facing camera. The device is powered by the Dimensity 8100 Max chipset coupled with either 8GB or 12GB RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the smartphone is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variants.

Coming to the camera specifications, the device sports a triple-camera setup at the rear with a primary 50-megapixel lens, a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front of the smartphone is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

The hardware components within the OnePlus Ace are powered by a 4,500 mAh battery pack with the latest fast charging technology. According to the company, the smartphone may retain 80% of its battery capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles.

The OnePlus Ace will run on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12, but this could be limited to the Chinese market. When the smartphone launches the device in India, we may get OxygenOS out of the box.

OnePlus Ace expected pricing

The smartphone has been launched in two colours - Blue and Black in the same colour shades that Oppo’s smartphones are available in. The device is available in three variants with the base one with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costing CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 29,500). The 256GB storage variant costs CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs 31,800).

The higher variants with 12GB RAM models with 256GB storage cost CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs 35,000) while the 512GB storage variant retails at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs 41,000).
