  • Casio could soon release a new G-Shock watch dubbed the GM-H5600
  • This might combine in-depth health metrics with a metal frame
  • It could launch as soon as mid-2026, the leak suggests

Casio’s G-Shock is one of the most recognizable watches on the planet – and now a fresh leak suggests that a new model, potentially from Casio’s G-Squad range, could land soon with some much-requested features.

The leak first surfaced on the Japanese site Great G-Shock World. There, it is claimed that a new Casio G-Shock device (with the model number GM-H5600) has appeared in several certification databases from Asia. Its inclusion in these databases implies that the product is undergoing final certification and that a launch could be just around the corner.

According to Great G-Shock World, the leaked device could combine the health metrics found in Casio’s DW-H5600 – including the optical heart rate meter – with a metal case like that of the GM-5600 watch. That could help it pair together popular features found in each device, entering new territory in the process and bringing it much closer to the best smartwatches than Casio products traditionally go.

The health features could go beyond an optical heart rate meter. Great G-Shock World lists other expected functions, including “daily health management” tools like pedometers and bloody oxygen level measurements, plus sleep monitoring and workout analysis.

As suggested by Wareable, the device’s features might parallel those found in the DW-H5600, including blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement, Life Log activity tracking, interval and running modes, and more.

When will we see this device?

As Great G-Shock World says, “the GM-H5600 has already been registered with the Asian certification body a few months ago, and there is no doubt that it is close to being released.” While specific dates haven’t been found, the website believes that the product could appear “in the first half of 2026, as early as spring to summer".

As for the price, that’s much less clear. The Casio DW-H5600 currently costs $299 (around £220 / AU$440), but it’s unknown whether the upcoming GM-H5600 will be priced similarly.

Still, by combining health and fitness metrics with a more rugged chassis, the rumored GM-H5600 could appeal to a set of users who haven’t been enticed by either the DW-H5600 or the GM-5600. With a release now apparently just a few months away, we seemingly won't have to wait long to find out.
