Every home deserves a vacuum cleaner, which makes Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals a very appealing prospect. Although Black Friday 2022 has yet to officially kick off, we're starting the tease with a selection of top-notch offers from some of the best vacuum cleaner (opens in new tab) brands around, including Dyson, Shark, and iRobot.

Overall, we're expecting Black Friday deals (opens in new tab) to start even earlier this year, with the event in our diaries to start on November 25. However, as with last year, we may see retailers launch some early Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals from mid-October.

Generally speaking, the trend for retail events like Black Friday over recent years has been to spread discounts out over longer period, often with slightly weaker price cuts. Weaker discounts this Holiday Season may again be the trend, fuelled by fears around inflation, rising prices, and the cost of living crisis. According to Adobe's Holiday Shopping Trends & Insight report (opens in new tab), prices of products in the Appliances category dipped by 14% in 2020 but only by 4% in 2021.

That said, we're hoping we get some great Vacuum deals from October this year: retailers want to entice people in, and many people want to spread out their spending to help manage their finances. There is still the demand to get big-named brands, such as Dyson, for less money. Statista (opens in new tab) identified that Dyson was one of the most searched for term, worldwide, during Black Friday last year and it's likely to be the same again this year.

We're confident that there are some gem Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals to be found this year, and we'll have them all rounded up right here on this page. Keep scrolling to bag a cheap vacuum cleaner - once they're gone, they're gone.

Today’s best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals

There won't be any official Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals until we're closer to November, but that doesn't mean that retailers and manufactures will be holding back from offering discounts in the interim. We've found some deals on vacuum cleaners - corded, cordless and upright models - so if you need a new vacuum cleaner now, here are the best places to browse.

Top US retailers:

Amazon: several offers on robot, upright and cordless hardware (opens in new tab)
Best Buy: save up to $200 on several models (opens in new tab)
Dyson: save $100 on popular stick vacuums (opens in new tab)
Home Depot: some various vacuum cleaner deals (opens in new tab)
Shark: offering coupon discounts on upright and robot vacuums (opens in new tab)
Walmart: various price cuts across floorcare (opens in new tab)
Target: several discounts on Shark, Black & Decker and Tineco models (opens in new tab)
Wayfair: some discounts but look out for Open Box products to save more (opens in new tab)

Top UK retailers:

Dyson: check out the Cleaner Home Event to save (opens in new tab)
Currys: save on select vacuum cleaners + free next day delivery (opens in new tab)
John Lewis: price drops and savings on Dyson, Numatic and Shark (opens in new tab)
Shark: shop the Shark sale event for vacuum cleaners and haircare (opens in new tab)
Wayfair: some savings on upright and handheld vacuums (opens in new tab)

Should you wait for a Black Friday vacuum cleaner deal?

With most vacuum cleaner deals landing in the weeks leading up to Black Friday, it would be a wise move to start looking around for offers at the beginning of November. Last year, appliances had a sudden drop in price around this time and continued to fall until the end of the month before shooting back up again.

We expect to see the a similar trajectory for vacuum cleaner Black Friday deals in 2022. So if you plan on buying on price alone - as opposed to shopping around for a specific brand or model - there may be some sense in waiting. However, you then run the risk of the product selling out before prices drop even further. We see it time and time again that incredible deals land, only for the product to go out of stock that same day, too. So really, the best advice that we can give is that if you see something that you like, don't delay in checking out with it.

When will the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals start in 2022?

We're expecting the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals to start to land from week commencing Monday 7 November - this is based on what happened last year - and for the offers to last through to the week after Cyber Monday (until stock runs out).

The biggest discounts actually fell around Cyber Monday with a few additional savings reaching an extra 10% off. However, these discounts may not be on the products that you actually want and, as we've said earlier, stock availability may become an issue.

Where will the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals be?

We'll be keep a look out for all the Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals as they come in to land, so bookmark this page and check back. However, if you'd rather research what's already available to buy, there are some retailers who we recommend shopping with.

Amazon is always a good shout as they consistently hold a decent range of stock, and have free next day delivery available if you're a Amazon Prime member, too. Shopping direct with brands such as Dyson and Shark would also be a good call. Both offer next day delivery and also have an excellent rep for customer service.

How good will this year's Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals be?

Last year we saw the price for appliances (including vacuum cleaners) rise in September, and then start falling in October. The lowest prices we saw were at the end of November, but stock was very limited. We're expecting to see the same thing happen again this year, with 2021 models now included in the sales.

What Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals do we expect to see in 2022?

We're expecting to see opportunities to save at least a hundred-or-so dollars on vacuum cleaners during Black Friday. This includes handheld vacuums, corded, cordless, upright and robot vacuum cleaners. There has already been price drops across a range of vacuum cleaners from big-named brands such as Dyson and Shark throughout the year, which ties in to their own event plans rather than those sales which effect all retailers.

There has been a lot of product newness which could see last year's models, or even earlier versions, more heavily discounted. And we wouldn't be surprised if we saw offers on recently launched vacuum cleaners to entice buyers a little more whilst the hype is still in the air. The new Henry Quick (opens in new tab) was launched in September 2022, for example, which is the first ever cordless vacuum cleaner from Numatic. Vax also launched the Blade 5 (opens in new tab) earlier on this year, with Shark expected to release the new Stratos range of corded, cordless and upright vacuum cleaners at the beginning of October.

Around the time of Black Friday there may also be some new vacuum cleaners announced to ride the wave of the hype. Previously sold out models may also get stock land just in time for the event, too, so it's always a good idea to keep checking back on the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals to find out what's now available.

Last year's best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals

A good way to get a sense of what to expect during this year's Black Friday event is to take a look back over last year's. Here's a handful of the biggest ones we saw.

US: the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals last year

(opens in new tab)

iRobot Roomba i6+: $799.99 $549 at Amazon
Save $250.99 - This is a great Black Friday saving on a very smart Roomba. The i6+ is particularly good at handling pet hair, and because it's self-emptying, it can keep cleaning your floors for up to 60 days all by itself. It can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest a custom schedule just for you. $250.99 is also the biggest Roomba saving we've seen so far.

(opens in new tab)

Shark ION Robot Vacuum: $299.99 $143 at Walmart
Save $156.99 - This is one of the best robot vacuum deals we've seen this Black Friday, knocking over 50% off the original price of the Shark ION. It's suitable for carpets and hard floors, can be controlled from your phone or smart speaker and automatically detects edges and obstacles. At just $143, too, what's not to like?

(opens in new tab)

iRobot Roomba i7 bundle: $874.99 $499 at Walmart
Save $375.99 - In addition to the standalone Roomba i7 (an excellent robot vacuum for larger homes), Walmart is offering US shoppers the chance to grab an extended two-year warranty and an accessory bundle containing three extra edge sweeping brushes, three high-efficiency filters and a dual multi-surface rubber brush – all for a whopping $375.99 less than RRP. Oddly, Walmart is offering the vacuum in isolation for $100 more than this deal, which, incidentally, has only appeared in the run-up to Cyber Monday – so absolutely get on this one while you can.

(opens in new tab)

Samsung Jet 60 Fit Cordless Stick Vacuum: $299 $179 at Walmart
Save $120 - Walmart is offering an impressive $120 off the Samsung Jet 60 right now, a vacuum that provides a more affordable alternative to premium suckers from the likes of Dyson and Shark. The Jet 60 features a lightweight and maneuverable design, as well as a removable battery that can be easily swapped for a spare (extending cleaning time by 40 minutes). Being a Samsung, too, you'll get plenty of intelligent tech bundled inside this one.

(opens in new tab)

Shark IZ682H Vertex Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum: $499.99 $319.99 at Amazon
Save $180 - This Shark stick vacuum might be compact, but it has a super long runtime of up to two hours on eco mode, making it a great option for larger homes. It's never been this cheap before, even on previous Black Fridays, and this offer won't last long.

(opens in new tab)

Dyson Outsize Total Clean cordless vacuum: $849.99 $749.99 at Best Buy
Save $100 -
Dyson vacuums are always Black Friday best-sellers, and Best Buy has the Dyson Outsize Total Clean on sale for $749.99. That's a respectable $100 discount on the powerful stick vacuum, which works across hardwood floors and carpets, but Best Buy had shaved an additional $100 of its price a few days ago. Still, it's worth considering as a Cyber Monday deal.

(opens in new tab)

Shark AZ2002 Vertex Lift-Away Upright Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFin: $479.99 $299.99 at Amazon
Save $180 - The AZ2002 Vertex is one of Shark's most powerful models, and is a particularly good choice if you've got a pet that sheds lots of hair around the house. Amazon was advertising a more expensive sale price earlier in the week, so we don't anticipate this new saving of $180 will be beaten in the coming days.

Ecovacs Robotics N79S Robot Vacuum Cleaner: £249 £129 at Amazon
Save £120
- If you'd prefer a cheaper alternative, this Ecovacs Robot Vacuum Cleaner is now a huge 48% off at Amazon. It boasts high suction and a beater brush that will sweep, lift and vacuum on both hard floors and carpets for up to 120 minutes. Other conveniences include control through a smart app and Alexa - and it will auto-return to self-charge once it runs out of power.

(opens in new tab)

iRobot Roomba Combo: £349.99 £199.99 at Amazon
Save £150 – This Roomba is capable of both vacuuming and mopping, so it's suitable for all your floors. It usually hovers around the £300 mark, so this is a brilliant deal in time for Black Friday. Hurry, though, as it's likely to be popular.

(opens in new tab)

iRobot Roomba J7+: £899.99 £799.99 at iRobot
Save £100 - This multi-surface Roomba is self-emptying, and can keep cleaning for months before its allergen-sealed bin needs taking care of. This is the lowest price we've ever seen for the J7+, and it's no longer on sale at Amazon, so we suggest hedging your bets now.

(opens in new tab)

Shark Anti Hair Wrap with PowerFins & Flexology: £399.99 £229.99 at John Lewis
Save £170 - The beefier sibling of the standard Anti Hair Wrap, the Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with PowerFins & Flexology (opens in new tab) (yes, it's a mouthful) is on sale now at John Lewis for the handsome sum of just £229.99. For that price, you're getting the brand's excellent Powerfin technology in addition to two motorised brushrolls, meaning you'll be able to clean those hard-to-reach places in your home (we're thinking under furniture like beds and sofas) with ease. You'll find a similar deal at Currys (opens in new tab), too, if this one sells out.

(opens in new tab)

Halo Capsule: £418.939 £249.99 at Capsule Clean
Save £169 -
The eco-friendly Halo Capsule is currently available for 40% less this Black Friday – the biggest saving ever offered by the UK brand. A new player in the vacuum market, it's the first sucker to be made with carbon fibre technology in the UK, weighing just 2.6kg. For £249.99, you'll get the vacuum, along with all the tools and accessories needed to keep both carpet and wooden floors spotlessly clean.

(opens in new tab)

Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum IZ320UKT: £529.99 £348.99 at Amazon
Save £181 - Got a pet hair problem but don't want a bulky upright vacuum? This is the cleaner for you. It has two batteries, which allow you to keep cleaning for up to two hours, and has twice the suction of Shark's basic stick vacuums. It's surprisingly light too, at just 4.8kg, so hefting it up and down stairs won't be an issue.

(opens in new tab)

Dyson V11 Outsize: £649.99 £399.99 at eBay
Save £250 -
Unlikely to see discounts elsewhere and out of stock at Dyson itself, the brilliant Dyson V11 Outsize (opens in new tab) is now available at eBay for the almighty price of just £399.99. Being eBay, this is a refurbished model, but it's been approved by Dyson and you'll get both a 30-day money back guarantee and a one-year warranty. In our experience, refurbished tech is eco-friendly, often as good as new and a real way to make savings. In this case, since it's being sold by Dyson itself, we think £250 off the Dyson V11 Outsize is a truly excellent (and safe) deal. The only qualm is the supposedly damaged box this might arrive in – a small sacrifice, all told.

(opens in new tab)

Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner NZ850UKT: £369.99 £199 at Amazon
Save £170.99 - A vacuum designed with pet-owners in mind, the NZ850UKT has 25% stronger suction than cheaper models to make light work of dog and cat hair. It hit a slightly higher sale price at the start of November, but now it's dropped back down even further.

(opens in new tab)

Hoover 700 Handheld Vacuum: £119.99 £50.99 at Amazon
Save £69 -
You can save a whopping 58% on this handheld Hoover vacuum at Amazon right now. It's not the most glamorous product in its class, but with impressive 40-air-watt suction power which can run for up to 12 minutes (courtesy of a 120W brushless motor), the Hoover 700 is a neat bit of kit for those after a small, portable vacuum for enclosed spaces.

3 pro tips for buying a vacuum cleaner on Black Friday

1. Identify the product code

This will be listed on retailers' websites - keep it to hand. This will ensure that you won’t get caught out by an older model that lacks the features you really wanted. Model numbers vary between the US and UK, too, which is worth bearing in mind.

However, as we’ve already mentioned, some older vacuum cleaner models can prove to be a better deal because they feature the same level of suction power as newer models, but don't come bundled with extra attachments, large dust canisters, or in the case of cordless vacuum cleaners, additional batteries. You may find these unnecessary if you have a smaller home or don’t plan on using the vacuum for anything other than floor cleaning.

2. Compare the deal

Always remember to compare the deal you’ve seen with the discounts other retailers are offering (there's more retailers other than Amazon), as you may find better reductions elsewhere since retailers compete to offer the best Black Friday deals. We’ll be sifting through hundreds of Black Friday vacuum deals, and rounding up our pick of the best discounts here, but if you’re going solo it's crucial to remember that discounts can differ wildly between retailers. Also, keep an eye out for retailers offering long guarantees in a bid to get the edge over their competitors.

3. Check to see if the vacuum cleaner is refurbished

If the particular deal you are looking at is more heavily discounted than others, then it may be because it's a refurbished or open-box appliance. Although there isn't exactly anything wrong with getting a refurbished appliance, you should just be aware that this may effect the manufacturers warranty period reducing it from two years to one year, for example. Refurbished models may not look as-good-as new either, if that's important to you.

3 best vacuum cleaners to watch out for

Dyson V15 Detect on a white background

1. Dyson V15 Detect Absolute

Best high-end vacuum cleaner

Power supply: Cordless | Weight: 3.1kg | Bin Size: 0.75L | Run time: Up to 60 minutes

Powerful Suction
Laser highlights hidden dust
Informative LCD Screen
Average-sized dust canister
Noisy on full power

This is one of Dyson's most impressive vacuum cleaners yet. In our review, we felt that a standout feature was the built-in laser that shines a light (a green one in fact) on microscopic dust that's not visible to the human eye on hard floors. It also comes with an LCD screen that displays the remaining runtime, and when used on Auto mode conserves the battery by adjusting the suction power to suit the floor type and the amount of dust automatically.

While we found the V15 Detect Absolute noisy when used on full power, it has an average-sized dust canister, and it is certainly pricey, but with Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals just around the corner, we're confident that you could pick this vacuum cleaner up for less. It was launched last year and there has been a new Dyson vacuum cleaner released since - Dyson V12 Detect Slim (opens in new tab) - which could be enough to see prices tumble a little.

The Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with PowerFins & Flexology on a white background

2. Shark IZ300UKT

Best mid-range vacuum cleaner

Power: Cordless | Weight: : 4.58kg | Bin size: : 0.7L | Run time: Up to 60 minutes

Flexible for reaching under furniture
Powerful suction
Anti-hair wrap technology
Heavy
Noisy in use
Flicked around large debris on hard floor

Shark vacuum cleaners are a fantastic mid-range compared to the Dyson. In fact, they are pretty on par with the brand in terms of quality and performance.

Known as the Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins (IZ662H) in the US, we were impressed with just how powerful it was when sucking up dirt and debris from carpet and hard floors. It also includes Shark’s Anti Hair Wrap technology which is just the best for preventing hair getting tangled around the brush bar. However, we found that it is one of the noisiest vacuums we’ve tested, and we found the wheels on the back of the cleaner head flicked some of the oats around rather than collecting them, when we tested it on hard floors. It’s also heavier than many cordless vacuums on the market too.

if that doesn't phase you then we think that this would be a good vacuum cleaner to have around the home, especially if you pick it up during the eagerly anticipated Black Friday event. It's already discounted on the Shark UK website (opens in new tab) so we wouldn't be surprised if we saw the price slashed in the US sometime soon, too. A new line-up by the brand called Stratos has recently launched so we expect this to have some effect on the prices at the least.

Henry HVR 160-11 Bagged Cylinder Vacuum product cut out on white background

3. Henry HVR-160

Best budget vacuum cleaner

Power: Corded | Weight: : 7.5kg | Bin size: : 6L | Run time: N/A

Large capacity
Great suction
Long power cord
Heavy
Large to store

Part of the Numatic vacuum family, Henry has long been one of the UK's most reliable vacuum cleaners. During testing, we found that Henry HVR-160 was undeterred by any dirt, debris or rubble - and he's still going strong. The massive 6-litre capacity has meant that we've only had to remove a full bag once from the dust canister, during the (almost) year we've been using it as our second vacuum cleaner -  the Dyson V11 Outsize is our main vac.

Over the last few months we have seen the HVR-160 on offer with 24% currently knocked off the price on Amazon UK (opens in new tab). We expect to see it available at a similar price of £120 at some point during Black Friday and, although it is one of the cheapest vacuum cleaners you can buy, you won't be disappointed with just how versatile and robust this Henry vacuum is.
