A 30in all-rounder with a big performance

Our Verdict

A solid and professional monitor that delivers on performance

  • Good colour performance

  • No quick-release cap

From the moment you switch this monitor on, its colour performance is impressive. This can be attributed to HP's new generation of panels designed with improved colour performance in mind. In our tests, it had saturated and punchy colours.

Although the maximum brightness on this monitor is low, the wider contrast range means that the performance is excellent. Uniformity is also good, with no grey areas.

Usefully, the LP3065 includes three DVI sockets, which means that it's easy to share it between two desktops and a laptop.

As is standard, gamma, contrast and other video basics are all set by the graphics card, and not synthesised in the monitor, and accessories are limited to a single USB hub. The LP3065 can be detached from its stand and mounted on a VESA standard arm.

However, the requisite quick-release catch isn't provided in the box. Video performance was okay, with some noticeable smearing, although worse than you get with comparible products.
