Nikon L120 Review: Verdict

The proof of the pudding is in the eating – and although some of its operation may be limited and many manual enthusiasts may find the set up a little restrictive the actual image quality produced by the all-rounder L120 shows that the new Coolpix is an enviable contender in the well stocked super-zoom market and certainly worth its £249 price tag.

We like

The 21x zoom makes the Coolpix L120 a great all-rounder. What's more, the camera consistently proved to capture strong colours and details.

We dislike

There isn't much in the way of manual control, and the AF system seemed to struggle a bit in low-light and low-contrast settings.

Verdict

The Nikon Coolpix L120 stands up well against other 'super-zoom' compact cameras. While image sharpness begins to drop off towards the edges, on the whole the level of detail and colour replication exceeded our expectations.
