Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States, and also one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
It was originally known as Decoration Day and honors US military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It takes place on the last Monday in May, which means that this year it occurs on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Memorial Day sales are not as big as those on Black Friday, but they often offer great savings on household items such as large and small appliances, plus mattresses. But we also see discounts on many other tech items during the Memorial Day weekend, with TVs, laptops and various Apple devices also getting price cuts.
All of the big retailers will be running sales; we'll be checking the likes of Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe's to bring you the best deals throughout this period.
