Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will reveal what Jessica Jones has been doing since we last saw her in her self-titled show's final season.
Jones, who'll make her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in the Disney+ series' next chapter, hasn't been seen since her eponymous TV series ended in mid-2019. However, last July, Marvel confirmed Jones would show up in Daredevil: Born Again's sophomore season – and, in even more crowd-pleasing news, she'll be played once more by Krysten Ritter.
Now, speaking on the latest edition of the Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel's Head of TV and Animation Brad Winderbaum revealed Born Again season 2 will catch us up on what Jones has been up to in the near-seven year period since she last graced our screens.
"It was so exciting when she [Ritter] walked on set for the first time in the leather jacket and boots," Winderbaum gushed. "You're like 'there she is'.
"I'm not going to spoil anything, but what's really fun about that character is the time jump since the last time we saw her," he continued. "It's been a while, so we're re-establishing this character and catching up the audience on what the hell she's been up to, and that's been filled with a lot of very cool surprises."
Defending her city – and her family?
Predictably, the final part of Winderbaum's answer has set tongues wagging among Marvel fans about what he's teasing. And, in the hours since this episode of the podcast was released, listeners have come up with a big theory about Jones ahead of the next chapter of Daredevil's small-screen production.
Full spoilers immediately follow for Jessica Jones' comic book history and Jessica Jones season 1. Potential spoilers are also discussed for Born Again season 2.

In the source material, Jones and another superpowered individual Luke Cage end up having a child – a daughter named Danielle – together. Danielle is a relatively recent addition to Marvel Comics' ever-expanding roster of characters, with the pair's offspring making her debut in 'The Pulse #3' in January 2006.
Now, this isn't confirmation that Born Again season 2 will reveal Jones is now a mom. However, in season 1 of her Netflix TV series, which the now-defunct Marvel Television co-produced, Jones and Cage – the latter being played by Mike Colter – were romantically entangled for a time before breaking up.
The pair reunited in the 2018 crossover series The Defenders, which saw them help Daredevil and Iron Fist defeat The Hand before going their separate ways again. Then, before Jessica Jones ended with its third and final season, Colter guest-starred as Cage in its eighth episode, which revealed the duo were still on good terms.
Comment from r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers
Given the pair's romantic history in the comics, the cordial status of their dynamic before Netflix's Marvel-Verse ended, and the ongoing rumors that Colter will also return as Cage in the Marvel Phase 6 project, fans have theorized that we'll soon learn that they're an item again.
In the wake of Winderbaum's new comments, MCU devotees are also increasingly confident that one of the "very cool surprises" he's alluding to is that they'll have become parents to Danielle. Indeed, threads that recently popped up on r/MarvelStudios and r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers are full of comments from users suggesting this will be the case.
Will this theory be proven correct? We'll find out when Born Again's second season is released on Disney+, aka one of the world's best streaming services, this March. In the meantime, read up on everything we know so far about Daredevil: Born Again season 2.
