As well as meaning you'll never have to worry about running out of juice, corded vacuums tend to deliver better suction than cordless ones, and last longer overall, too. This model can auto-adjust brushroll speed based on floor type, and has Shark's new-style floorhead, which is especially good at dealing with chunky spillages.

For maximum cleaning power, you can't beat a corded upright vacuum, and this Shark model just crashed to its lowest ever price. Its lift-away design means you can lift off and hold the dust cup, and use the cleaner head on a flexible tube, for detail cleaning. I haven't used this specific model but we have reviewed a number of similar Shark upright vacuums, and they consistently score highly in our tests.

The IX141 is a cheap vacuum in the Shark lineup. I've only ever seen it on Amazon, where it regularly attracts discounts – it's never cheaper than this current price though, which knocks 50% off MSRP. It looks like a basic but effective cleaner, and has the benefit of LED headlamps on the floorhead and a design that can be folded up and stored freestanding.

The HV322 regularly attracts discounts, but this deal is especially strong. Going corded is always my top tip for saving money on vacuum cleaners – corded vacuums almost always offer more suction than cordless, and tend to last longer overall, too. I haven't tested this model, but it looks like a good, basic all-rounder for an extremely affordable price.
