Best laptop sales in Australia: the best deals and largest discounts
Save on laptops from Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo and more
It's the festive season, so right now all our best laptop deals can be found over at our dedicated Boxing Day laptop deals page.
Whether you’re after an affordable laptop or a heavily discounted premium machine, you’re in the right place. We’ve tracked down the best ways to save across a range of models. Deals change from week to week, but below you’ll usually find offers on Apple, Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, Microsoft, and Asus devices.
The laptop sales we highlight are chosen for more than price. We also weigh specifications and performance so you get the best value for money while staying within your budget. We also verify current prices and track past sales to make sure each offer is genuinely good.
The best deals on everyday laptops
This compact machine has a decently powerful Snapdragon X Plus CPU paired with 16GB of RAM, and can happily take on any everyday tasks. It also has a 16:10 (1920 x 1200) IPS display with a high 300-nit brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour reproduction, and a facial-recognition webcam.
TechRadar’s recommended laptop for most people in 2025 is a Windows device once again, thanks to Microsoft going with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite ARM CPUs to match the performance and efficiency found in Apple Silicon-powered MacBooks. The Surface Laptop 7 line also features high-DPI IPS displays with touchscreens, featuring 400-nit brightness and excellent colour reproduction. While ARM laptops aren’t best for those with very specific software requirements due to (now rare) potential compatibility issues, I reckon this is a solid discount.
The Snapdragon X Elite variant is also on sale from AU$1,748, and the 15-inch starts at AU$1,888.
Gaming laptop deals
The Victus 15 with RTX 4050 is often sold around the AU$1,500 mark (and the Ryzen & variant is AU$1,699 from HP), but it's now discounted on the HP eBay store to AU$1,399. Then, using code HPDC20, you get an extra 20% off, bringing the price down to an excellent AU$1,119.20. It was AU$999.20 during Black Friday, but this is the lowest I have seen since. And overall it's a solid deal for a Core i5 RTX 4050 machine, as it's more than capable of decent frame rates on the 15-inch, 1080p, 144Hz screen.
While we would not normally recommend an RTX 5060 gaming laptop for AU$1,999 (using code HPDC20), prices are up across the board for gaming hardware, and the Omen 16 has a few key advantages that make the extra cost worth it. For a start, it's a larger 16-inch machine (with a 2560 x 1600 display), has 32GB of RAM, a powerful Ryzen 9 8940HX CPU and extras like a big 83Wh battery and a 4-zone RGB keyboard. The 5060 has a 115W TGP too, putting performance around 15% to 20% ahead of the HP Victus with the 5060 at an 80W TGP. Considering it's only about 13% more (AU$240) than the lesser Victus 15 5060 machine, I think that is a premium well worth paying.
For those who want mighty gaming power, the Legion Pro 7i with an Intel Ultra 9 275HX processor and an RTX 5090 GPU is one of the better options going, even though it's AU$100 more than the Black Friday discount. There are almost no other comparable machines at this price, making it an excellent deal if you are willing to spend big. Read our review to learn more.

This week’s best storewide laptop sales
Amazon: regular discounts on Chromebooks, plus best MacBook prices
Amazon has a regularly updated selection of laptop deals. It’s often the best place to go for cheap Chromebooks and mid-range devices, so worth a look if your budget is under AU$1,000. For those after a more premium device, Amazon often has the best prices available on Apple MacBooks, sometimes offering 10% off or more. It could also be worth checking Amazon coupon codes to get the best deal possible.
Dell: shop XPS, Inspiron and Alienware laptops
Dell no longer offers limited-time discounts on its range of laptops – instead, there’s only a featured section on its website. Unfortunately though, Dell doesn’t list the original price of these laptops, so it’s hard to know exactly what kind of deal you’re getting, or if you’re getting one at all. It does price match competitors' deals, and you can often find Dell coupon codes to ensure you’re getting the best discount.
HP: weekly deals on HP Envy, Spectre and Omen laptops
No matter when you look, HP is always offering discounts on its laptops, with fresh deals available each week. Typically, we see discounts of up to 40-50% off. Along with laptops, you’ll also find price cuts on PCs, monitors and other computing peripherals. The most substantial discounts seem to arrive on HP’s budget and mid-range devices. Check for HP coupon codes to ensure you’re getting the lowest price.
Lenovo: go-to for discounts on Lenovo ThinkPad, Yoga and Legion laptops
Lenovo is another laptop maker which always offers discounts via its online store. The maximum price cut is usually around 30-55% off, and runs the gamut of budget machines, 2-in-1 devices and premium gaming builds. To get any laptop discounts from the website, you’ll require a Lenovo coupon code, which is always listed next to the product.
JB Hi-Fi: frequent deals on Apple, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo
JB Hi-Fi regularly offers discounts across a wide range of laptop brands, so it’s always worth checking what’s available, especially during peak sale periods like EOFY. It often offers 10% off Apple MacBooks, 20% off Dell, HP and Lenovo, along with discounts on Asus and MSI. If you see a manufacturer offering a model on sale, it’s worth seeing if JB Hi-Fi is beating it.
