The OPPO Reno series has always been the epitome of flagship-grade technology delivered to consumers that look for sophistication and an enhanced smartphone experience. With its latest release, the OPPO Reno10 Series, the brand showcases a professional portrait camera system alongside solid specs. The series introduces three devices: Reno10 Pro 5G, Reno10 5G and the star of this article, the Reno10 Pro+ 5G.

The Reno10 Pro+ 5G has a high-megapixel telephoto portrait camera, facing its competition head-on with its 64MP telephoto portrait camera system that delivers professional portrait photography with DSLR-grade pictures. Priced at INR 54,999 the device goes on sale from July 13 across Mainline Retailers, Flipkart, and OPPO stores. So, what makes the Reno10 Pro+ 5G a compelling flagship to buy? Let's find out.

Among the main selling points of the Reno10 Pro+ 5G is its 64MP telephoto portrait camera with OIS, 3x optical zoom, and 120x digital zoom, which OPPO claims is the highest megapixel telephoto portrait camera in the industry. You also get an upgraded Portrait Mode perfect for professional, half-body portrait shots.

The way the telephoto portrait camera is  and operated gives you the right range to shoot portraits. With its impressive 3× optical zoom, you get a focal length of 71mm, and with 3-6× ultra clear zoom, you get focal lengths between 50-100mm resulting in ultra-clear image quality for portraits.

The portrait shots have a natural bokeh effect without compromising picture clarity, and improved light sensitivity on the telephoto camera system along with the newly-upgraded Prism OIS helps image stabilization in both daylight and low-light scenarios.

Another unique aspect of the Reno10 Pro+ 5G’s camera system is the newly engineered and advanced periscope structure. This has reduced the overall thickness of the camera structure by 0.96mm to give a significantly less protruding camera module. As a result, you get thinnest and lightest periscope camera for professional portrait photos.

Powerful camera system

Alongside the 64MP Telephoto Portrait Camera, there is a 50MP ultra-clear main camera and 112° 8MP ultra-wide-angle Camera. The triple camera system on the device shoots clear and natural-looking pictures easily. Thanks to OIS being present in the camera system movements and jerks do not have much impact on the final pictures.

The ultra-clear 50 MP main camera is quite powerful. Whether it's daytime or night one can take detailed images with a more natural representation of colour. Nighttime photography is exceptionally enjoyable as the camera system improves the dynamic range of images shot in low light.

On the other hand, the 112° 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera shoots clear portraits at any magnification from 0.6x. This ensures that you can capture more content in every image shot with the ultra-wide-angle camera, and take natural-looking photos, realistic low-light photos, and even record 4K videos easily.

Coming to the front camera, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ is equipped with a 32MP ultra-clear selfie camera with auto-focus. The system uses a Sony IMX709 sensor with an improved RGBW pixel array. This basically means that the camera can capture more light so that selfies shot using the front camera system are more refined even in low-light situations. Furthermore, the front camera's autofocus feature allows you enlarge selfies at least twice so that posters can be created.

The camera system also takes advantage of several optimizations that come with the strong computing power of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processing platform. In layman’s terms, you get better image processing, complete image data, and improved color processing for a more evolved camera experience.

Along with the camera system and the processing architecture, OPPO has also worked on the display. With ProXDR smart display, it adjusts the brightness of the images by up to 8 times. This makes the images more natural and closer to how the human eye views them.

All-rounder battery performance

OPPO has beefed up the device with a good-sized 4700 mAh battery that easily lasts up to one and half days of battery life with everyday usage. On top of that, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G comes with the highest charging wattage in Reno's history with 100W SUPERVOOC™ Flash Charge. This takes the phone from 0% to 50% in less than 10 minutes and 100% within 27 minutes of use. This makes life extremely easy for someone who is always on the move and loves to take a lot of pictures.

The device is also certified by Tüv Rheinland Safe Fast-Charge System Certification, which when combined with OPPO’s self-engineered Battery Health Engine, offers good battery life. The device supports 4 years of battery life making OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G the one of the most durable battery devices in the industry.

The battery optimizations on the Reno10 Pro+ 5G don’t end here, thanks to OPPO's first independently developed power management chip, SUPERVOOC S. This effectively manages battery discharge so that your phone retains battery life for longer. It’s safe to say that this is a device that is as compelling in the battery department as in its camera experience.

Stylish Reno design and narrow bezels

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G comes with an attractive and sleek 3D curved design on one of the thinnest periscope telephoto phones in the industry. This makes the device a camera powerhouse, but also a stylish one. The design is curved around the edge making handling the phone quite comfortable.

It’s light and weighs just about 194g, with a thinness of 8.28mm, making it easy to hold in a single hand. You can choose from two colors - glossy purple and silvery grey - and the back panel has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection. On the silver grey variant, you also benefit from OPPO’s coveted Soft OPPO Glow treatment. Overall, the phone looks sleek and the design is very practical.

On the front, you get a 6.74″ borderless OLED display that is the narrowest bezel in Reno history. The color contrast is quite crisp and with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.9%, it gives you a big screen experience. To make the display more resilient to breakage, the 6.74″ borderless screen is coated with AGC Dragontrail Star 2 cover glass that offers a 20% improvement in drop resistance.

The screen hardware comes with a 10-bit image display and a 100% P3 wide color gamut for accurate color representation and a more readable display, especially in outdoor lighting. You get HDR 10+ and HDR video available on Amazon Prime Video for watching your favorite content. The ProXDR smart display mentioned previously also dynamically adjusts images for a more realistic viewing experience.

Another feature worth mentioning here is the 120Hz LTPS dynamic refresh rates that let you adjust the refresh rates on the screen according to usability.

The big screen and the curved design makes it easy to hold the device for a long time and watch content without causing eye strain, and viewing is immersive with realistic and true-to-life colors.

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is powered by the flagship Qualcomm platform Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 built on TSMC 4nm process technology, that offers AI-assisted improved CPU performance and efficiency. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 also offers several optimizations that enable pro portraits in the camera system as we have already seen.

This Reno10 Pro+ 5G also adopts powerful ultra-conductive graphite, with the highest thermal conductivity of 1,800 W/mk, which ranks highly in the industry. This makes sure that your device won't heat up or get stuck after long-term use of memory-consuming apps such as games and cameras.

Oppo’s proprietary dynamic computing engine also helps to better balance performance and energy consumption, meaning memory-consuming applications launch faster and less memory is consumed while using multiple applications. Coupled with 12 GB RAM, as many as 44 apps could be opened at a single time on Reno10 Pro+ 5G without resulting in lag or data loss.

The device also gets TÜV SÜD 48-Month Fluency Rating, a certification which indicates the device will perform as good as new even after 4 years of usage.
