Netflix is undoubtedly the most important name in streaming. The company, which started out as a mail-order DVD service in the late ‘90s, completely upended the traditional media industry when it launched an online streaming service in 2007 and remains the biggest player in the space today.
As a pioneer in streaming, it’s no wonder that it boasts the highest subscriber numbers, biggest global reach and greatest volume of original content compared to its many competitors, which include Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video.
