China has launched a stinging attack on the US, after Hilary Clinton criticised the country for its apparent censoring of the internet.
Clinton, who is the US Secretary of State, spoke yesterday about China's web habits and called for restrictions it has put on the internet in the country to be lifted.
Respect the facts
China has responded with its Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ma Zhaoxu, calling Clinton's remarks as "information imperialism" and announced that the US should "respect the facts" and cease the "groundless accusations against China".
The response was reported by the Xinhau news agency, with Zhaoxu also commenting: "The US side had criticised China's policies on Internet administration, alluding that China restricts Internet freedom.
"We firmly oppose such words and deeds, which were against the facts and would harm the China-US relations."
After China's spat with Google, Clinton is worried that the country is "walling themselves off from the progress of the next century".

5. The best thing for the internet and the rest of the free world, would be to build a great firewall of China and disconnect them from the rest of the world. Then they wouldn't need to filter anything and secondly the rest of the world would have to put up with their hacking, cyber espionage and cyber attacks.

3. "When will countries start to look after their own country and stop meddling with other countries."
If a flood of cheap products is bankrupting local manufacturers, is that our concern?
If the reason those products undercut our own is slave labour and sweatshops, is that our concern?
If the source of the slave labour is invaded countries (e.g. Tibet) and internal groups the Commies took a dislike to (e.g. Falun Gong) then is that our concern?
If the CCP buys Western IT expertise to ensure that its more-influential citizens don't find out the truth about all this, do you care?
OK, assuming you answered 'No' to all those. Then, would you care if the CCP decided that Taiwan is the next potential source of slaves, and starts a war.
A war which leads to global involvement, and possibly a nuclear exchange.
Would you care then?

2. I wish the USA would leave China alone. China has a nice future ahead of it, a strong flourishing economy and GDP is rising fast.
So the internet has been censored there, It's worked out alright, allowed the Chinese government to maintain control and order.
I'm pretty sure that if facebook, youtube and pro-tibet websites were allowed, Some Chinese would use them to provoke the Government and there would be more violence and upset in China.
I think a country such as the USA should be worrying more about it's own internal problems, deficits, bank bail outs, weak economy, high unemployment, and weak political support from it's citizens.
Yet the USA has the cheek to interfere with China.
When will countries start to look after their own country and stop meddling with other countries.

1. "We firmly oppose such words and deeds, which were against the facts and would harm the China-US relations."
So people CAN access Facebook, YouTube and pro-Tibet websites then?
