Fallout 3 - purdy

<>

Bethesda's Peter Hines has explained why the software giants behind Oblivion and the forthcoming Fallout 3 use the Xbox 360, rather than PC or PlayStation as their main development platform.

Hines, who was in London to show off the mighty fine looking Fallout 3, told TechRadar that the Xbox 360 was very much Bethesda's lead machine on the title.

"If you have the PC as your lead machine you have the problem of not knowing what configurations people have, how many gigs of RAM or what graphics card they have," explained Hines.

"Obviously we are more familiar with the Xbox because we have used it for longer and the other thing is that the Xbox is much easier to take to tech shows.

"We can just pop the hard-drive off the Xbox and put it on any machine which is an advantage. Taking the PC or PS3 to these things just isn't convenient."

DLC and Fallout 4

Hines also talked about the downloadable content for Fallout 3 insisting that exclusive for Xbox 360 and PC meant exactly that.

"When I say exclusive I mean it is exclusive to just the Xbox 360 and PC.

"If you want to play the Fallout 3 downloadable content you will need to have an Xbox 360 or a PC."

Finally, Hines was good enough to confirm that there are plans to extend the Fallout franchise to a fourth game.

"We didn't buy the Fallout franchise to just do Fallout 3 and then stop," he said.

"But let's get this one out of the door before we worry about the next one."

First off, I admit that I misinterpreted what he was talking about, mostly because I didn't read the title of the article and I read it on Maxconsole first. Either way if he's developing games, then a trip with a "giant" machine once or twice should be his lowest priority. The fact still remains that his quote does not make sense and he sounds like he's trying to market the 360... This is lame in my opinion. It implies that he is reading from a script written by marketers. He is pointing out every microscopic advantage that the 360 has over other console. I think if the 360 could fart he would say "Well I like bringing the 360 to tech shows because the whole audience loves the smell of farts while watching this superior machine." I think everyone is losing site of what gaming is all about and are becoming obsessed with these "console wars". Why the hell would you want to be a fanboy? Why love a company that uses you as a tool. I think gamers should appreciate the games/systems instead of the companies.

2. Now you are aware that he is obviously talking about the 360 dev console right? The one with the extended looking hard drive instead of the small one that the elite and pro 360s have. Well anyway yeah he is talking about only needing to take that with him apposed to having to bring a giant PS3 dev kit which really is giant. You'd do better to research what is being discussed before you fly off the handle like that.

1. "Obviously we are more familiar with the Xbox because we are familiar"... What does that even mean? This guy is an idiot and is obviously trying to market the xbox 360. Now I know it's SOOO HARD to pick up a PS3 and bring it to a tech show. Not to mention all the cramps you would get picking that heavy piece of equipment up. It is MUCH more convenient to pop off that hard drive and put it into any system. Problem is.. YOU HAVE TO BRING THE XBOX IF YOU WANT TO POP IN THE HARD DRIVE, SO THERE IS NO CONVENIENCE YOU IDIOT! By the way I hate Oblivion.. Very boring game that makes Shadow of a Colossus look like the best game ever made. Who wants to walk around for 5 hours to have 3 minutes of action.. and WTF is up with the stealing system. I steal something without getting caught and somehow the guard magically knows I stole it?!?! HOW VERY REALISTIC. Spend your time making better games and stop putting down other systems you fanboy.
