Poco today has announced that the company will release another 5G M-series smartphone this week. The company tweeted that the launch of the Poco M4 5G  will happen on April 29. It is also confirmed that the device will be available on Flipkart.

The Poco M4 5G may get some of the features from the M4 Pro 5G that the company launched a couple of months ago. The former is rumoured to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset with the same 90Hz FullHD+ display as the latter. The smartphone is also expected to come with an 18W charger, unlike the Pro models.

While the tweet does not give out any details about the hardware on the device, we do get a glimpse at the design of the smartphone. It also confirms that the device will feature a dual-camera setup at the back and will come with a slim squared-off form factor.

Here is everything we know so far about the Poco M4 5G.

Poco M4 5G expected specifications

According to a report by Telecom Talk, there have been leaks that hinted at the possible hardware that comes in the Poco M4 5G. It is expected that the device would sport a 6.58-inch 90Hz FullHD+ IPS LCD display. It could also launch in two variants - 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. The company might continue to use UFS 2.2 storage for the Poco M4 5G.

In terms of the cameras on the device, we could expect to see a 50-megapixel primary lens and a secondary 2-megapixel lens for depth sensing. The report also states that the device could feature a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Powering all the hardware within the device might be a 5,000 mAh battery pack with support for 18W fast charging, unlike the Pro models that come with a faster 33W charger. The Poco M4 5G is expected to launch with MIUI 13 based on Android 11.

Another rebranded Xiaomi smartphone?

Like the launches from the past few months, it is still a question that we would be expecting an answer to. Although Poco has become a separate entity from Xiaomi, it is still unconfirmed when the company would launch a smartphone that is not a rebranded device from its former parent company.

Since the images of the smartphone in the tweet do give us a small hope that it is a new design to the Poco M-series, we are keeping our fingers crossed for the same to be true.
