People want their devices to just work. They don’t want to worry about connecting to networks, signing in and out of services or downloading new apps to access something simple. This is one of the reasons why Apple products have historically been so successful. If you’re already signed into each device with your Apple details, it’s easy to share, connect and collaborate thanks to the brand’s Continuity features and operating system.

However, Apple products are pretty pricey and not to everyone’s taste, and if you have a phone, tablet, wearable or any other kind of device that’s running on a version of Android or Windows instead, it’s not so simple. There are plenty of ways to connect your devices, but you don’t get that same level of seamless connection that works well regardless of the device, platform or scenario you’re in at any one time.

But there’s good news - MagicOS 7.0, Honor’s new operating system, could soon address these problems. There’s a lot to love about the latest version of Honor’s MagicOS. But at its core, it creates an intuitive way to enable collaboration across devices — even those running on different operating systems. Now Honor hopes to open doors to everyone outside of Apple’s closed ecosystem with the new, cross-device capabilities of MagicOS 7.0.

Honor’s latest operating system is compatible with Android, as well as PC and IoT operating systems. This means you don’t have to worry if the devices you own are all running different OS’. Now, phones, PCs, mouses, tablets, smartwatches and fitness trackers can all connect, talk to each other and work together.

MagicOS 7.0 aims to make all your experiences with your devices feel more natural and intuitive, so you don’t have to focus on figuring out the tech. You just use it.

One standout feature of MagicOS 7.0 is Honor Connect, a new cross-platform protocol that makes it easy to connect all of your devices to MagicOS devices. This allows you to share screens, move documents from one device to another and work much smarter.

Another handy productivity feature of MagicOS 7.0 enables you to control any connected laptop or smartphone using the same keyboard and mouse. You can drag and drop files easily across devices and even type on your smartphone or tablet with your laptop keyboard.

Honor is currently working with several major tech partners to ensure this ecosystem works smoothly across devices, across platforms and across environments – whether you’re using your devices for solo work, collaboration or entertainment.

For example, Honor has partnered with Microsoft to support Phone Link, a way to connect your phone to your PC so that you can view your notifications, receive calls, and use your mobile apps from your larger screen as you work. The Honor Magic4 Pro is among the first international Honor smartphone models to support Phone Link, while the Honor 70 will also support Phone Link following an over-the-air update.

Honor is committed to this openly collaborative approach to connectivity. Not only is it teaming up with tech partners to build MagicOS 7.0, it’s also an active member of IoT consortium Matter, which is actively working towards the same goal.

Honor previewed MagicOS 7.0 at IFA 2022, but it will be officially announced in late 2022.
