If you're a student or work professional looking for one of the best laptops on the market right now, then I've picked out my favorite Dell laptop of all time, and an alternative to consider should your budget be able to stretch a little further.

First up, my top choice is the 4.5-star Dell XPS 13, which you can currently snap up for just $699.99. For not a lot of money, you'll get an excellent Windows laptop that is a brilliant alternative to entry-level MacBooks.

Not only is this the thinnest and lightest XPS ever built, but it also boasts a gorgeous 13.4-inch touch display with a huge 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. Beyond that there are Dolby Atmos quad speakers, a 1080p 2MP IR camera, and a 52Whr battery. That hits all the right notes to make it both portable and premium.

My best pick alternative is the 4-star Dell 16 Plus, which is currently retailing at $1299.99. This AI-focused PC features Copilot+ for a superior AI experience. In addition, the · Intel Core Ultra, QHD+ Mini LED display, and up to 20-hour battery life help set this laptop apart from the competition.

Our top Dell pick

Dell XPS 13: $699.99

The XPS 13 is "still one of the best laptops money can buy."

"Dell and Intel team up to deliver a powerhouse ultrabook."

All of this performance stems from the Intel Core processor, which powers everything from the high-resolution touch display to the quad speakers with 8W Dolby Atmos. This is a super Windows laptop with excellent all-round performance and portability.
