  • Peacemaker season 2 episode 6 contains a major reveal about Earth-2
  • DC fans say there's only one way to resolve this huge plot twist
  • James Gunn has teased that viewers might have their wish granted

Peacemaker season 2 is the talk of the TV town after its sixth episode, and rightly so. The hit HBO Max show's latest entry is full of showstopping moments that set up a barnstorming end in its final two episodes.

Amid the chatter of Peacemaker season 2 episode 6's big cameo, that bombshell ending, and other unexpected revelations, though, viewers began to discuss how they think the DC Universe's (DCU) first-ever project holds the key to resolving one of its most pertinent storylines.

Full spoilers immediately follow for Peacemaker's latest chapter, titled 'Ignorance Is Chris'.

If you're still here, you've either watched Peacemaker's most recent episode or you don't care for story spoilers.

Regardless, as I mentioned earlier today (September 26), Peacemaker season 2 finally reveals the truth about Earth-2, aka the parallel world Chris Smith has regularly visited throughout the DCU Chapter One TV show. The revelation in question? That Earth-2 is a dimension where Nazi Germany won World War II and far-right ideologies have shaped the social, political and cultural aspects of this reality.

At the time of publication, James Gunn – he's the creator, head writer, occasional director and executive producer of the show, FYI – plus the rest of the show's cast and crew are the only ones who know how season 2 will end. However, some fans believe Peacemaker's DCU TV cousin in Creature Commandos has the answer to dealing with this white supremacist-heavy dimension.

For those who might not have heard of it, Creature Commandos is the first-ever project released as part of the DCU. Superman might have officially kickstarted Gunn and Peter Safran's nascent comic book universe, but Creature Commandos is ground zero for the franchise's debut.

Anyway, one of Creature Commandos' characters who became a firm fan favorite during its first season is G.I. Robot. An android created by the US military to fight Nazis in World War II, G.I. Robot won our hearts and minds with his tragic backstory, deadpan delivery and clear disdain for those of an alt-right persuasion.

It doesn't take a genius to see where I'm going with this. If the US government has a Nazi-killing machine up its sleeve, it's not a stretch to think that G.I. Robot could be sent into the fray to deal with the white supremacists who inhabit this dimension.

That's a scenario that'll become more likely if ARGUS chief Rick Flag Sr eventually ends up helping Peacemaker and his allies escape Earth-2. Flag Sr was the initial leader of Task Force M, aka the group of anti-heroes and villains who starred in Creature Commandos, so he's already aware of G.I. Robot. It isn't outlandish to assume, then, that he could call in a favor and let G.I. Robot do what he does best by sending him to Earth-2.

The show's fanbase want to see that happen, too, so much so people posting in threads on the DC_Cinematic and DCULeaks sub-Reddits appear to be desperate. Meanwhile, users on the ResetEra forums, such as ReginaldXIV and EMBee99, as well as various X/Twitter account holders, agree that it's a tailor-made situation to drop G.I. Robot into.

For what it's worth, Gunn hasn't ruled out that happening.

During the Eagly Fanmail section on the latest episode of the Official Peacemaker Podcast, co-host Steve Agee asks Gunn a question from a fan that pertains to a potential crossover between the two shows. As the pair and fellow co-host Jennifer Holland point out, such a scenario has already occurred, with Rick Flag Sr having sizeable roles to play in Creature Commandos season 1 and Peacemaker season 2. During the latter's fourth episode, Flag Sr also brings up the time that he broke his back, which is a call back to Creature Commandos episode 5.

Nonetheless, as part of his response, Gunn doesn't actually rule out granting fans' wishes to see someone like G.I. Robot appear in one of the best HBO Max shows' second outing.

"I think what this person wants is for Weasel and The Bride and [Doctor] Phosphorus to team up with the 11th Street Kids," Gunn said, before he teased: "And, in a way, yeah, I think that's possible. Anything is possible."

Admittedly, Gunn doesn't name-drop G.I. Robot alongside other members of Task Force M. The fact that he doesn't outright reject the idea, though, implies that it might happen. To quote Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber: "So, you're telling me there's a chance". I certainly hope that's the case!
