Where is the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold? Fresh rumors predict a new potential launch date soon

- The Samsung Galaxy tri-fold will reportedly launch on October 31 or November 1
- This is in line with some previous release date claims, though also later than some sources said it would arrive
- It's still unclear whether the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold will be widely available or not
Samsung’s first tri-fold phone – which may simply be called the Samsung Galaxy Trifold – is something we’ve been hearing about for a long time now, in both official and unofficial capacities. However, we're still waiting on a launch date for the long-rumored phone.
The wait might almost be over though, as according to a report from the Yonhap News Agency (via Phandroid) citing “industry sources”, the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold will be unveiled at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which takes place on October 31 and November 1.
This is in line with recent reports: Samsung itself has said to expect this foldable by the end of the year, and a previous rumor suggested it would ship in November. That said, we also recently heard that the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold would be announced on September 29, which obviously didn’t happen, so we’d take any announcement date claims with a pinch of salt.
It might ship soon but we're not sure where
Even if this October 31 or November 1 date is correct, there are still a number of questions about the phone – most notably whether you’ll even be able to buy it, as some previous reports said it might only be sold in South Korea and China.
As an experimental handset, limited availability could make sense, but there is some hope for a wider launch.
CNN – citing “a person familiar with the company’s plans” – recently claimed that Samsung was “considering” launching the phone in the US – and if it launches in the US, it’s not impossible that it could launch in other markets like the UK and Australia too.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is seemingly doing extremely well – with Samsung revealing that initial US purchases exceeded the previous generation by 50% – it would make sense for the company to consider a wider launch for its tri-fold, since it seems foldable phones are no longer a niche product for Samsung.

Hopefully we’ll find out where it will be available soon, with October 31 and November 1 now looking like possible announcement dates.
