Best Cyber Monday deals
PB Tech has an excellent deal on the Apple MacBook Air 15-inch which can save you up to NZ$400. This model came out in 2023 and it uses Apple’s own M2 processor – if you currently have an Intel-powered MacBook, you’ll appreciate the performance jump. The big difference between this model and last year’s MacBook Air is the screen size, with this model boasting a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nit brightness. Grab a MacBook Air at this price in silver, gold or navy.
The Spectre series is HP’s line of premium 2-in-1 laptops, and they carry the price tag to match. HP’s online store is currently offering a 25% discount on this model, which comes with a 13th-gen Intel i5 chip and a 512GB SSD. It also has 8GB of RAM, which is well-balanced against its processor. This Spectre has a 13.5-inch touch display with 400 nit brightness, and it can be folded back onto itself completely.
HP has slashed 40% off this Victus gaming laptop, which saves you a whopping NZ$1,400. This model comes equipped with a 13th-gen Intel i5 processor and an RTX 4050 graphics card making it good for entry-level gaming, and the GPU should give you enough buffer to safely play most games at 1080p. The display is 16.1 inches and comes with a full-size RGB backlit keyboard. Pick it up directly from HP for NZ$2,099.
This is an excellent price for the PS5 disc console, and it also includes Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the bundle. Considering the console on its own retails for NZ$899 at full price, this deal is definitely worth jumping on via Mighty Ape. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 only released in late October, and it’ll see you web-slinging between skyscrapers in New York City. Grab this bundle now and save NZ$140.
If you’ve already got your hands on a PS5, then you might be keen to pick up a discounted DualSense controller as a backup, or to just have one handy for your mates. You’ve got a few colours to choose from here, including white, black, red, dark blue, light blue, purple, pink and camo – all for NZ$78 each. This deal is available until November 30.
PS5 DualSense Edge |
NZ$399 NZ$327 on Mighty Ape (save NZ$72)
One of the gripes in our DualSense Edge review was its very expensive price tag, which made it hard to recommend next to the already-excellent original DualSense. But this NZ$72 discount from Mighty Ape helps to make it a little more approachable (though it’s still quite pricey). The DualSense Edge gives you a full suite of customisation options, so you can completely remap your button layout, set trigger and stick sensitivity, along with vibration strength.
A Nintendo Switch Online membership allows you to play online, but it also gets you access to classic games from the NES, Super NES and Game Boy consoles. This deal comes on the Family Membership option, which allows for up to eight different Nintendo accounts to sit under one subscription. If you’ve got family or friends who’d like a membership too, this is a very cost-effective way of getting you all access – you don’t have to be in the same household either.
Meta Quest 2 (128GB) |
AU$533 AU$460 on Amazon AU (save AU$73)
The Meta Quest 2 (formerly Oculus) is on sale via Amazon Australia, and it’s pretty close to the lowest price we’ve seen (the cheapest being AU$427 back in July, but it came with a Japanese plug). The Quest 2 is an accessible VR headset without the wires, but it’s still capable of delivering detailed VR experiences. This kit is lightweight, comfortable and supports a wide catalogue of games. Note this deal is temporarily out of stock, but you can still order in on Amazon.
Logitech MX Master 3S |
AU$177.70 AU$108.75 on Amazon AU (save AU$68.95)
We rate the Logitech MX Master 3S as the best mouse you can buy, and it’s now almost 40% off on Amazon for Cyber Monday. This mouse is designed for right-hand use, so unfortunately you’ll need to look elsewhere if you’re left-handed. This mouse has a fast-scrolling wheel and an 8K DPI sensor, which means you can even use it on glass surfaces.
You can save NZ$40 on this HyperX mechanical gaming keyboard from Mighty Ape. It’s equipped with red switches, which are linear-style switches. That means they’re smoother to use than tactile and clicky switches, and don’t have a ‘bump’ feedback. They’re also quieter than their tactile and clicky counterparts. This mechanical keyboard has got plenty of RGB flair, and it’s easily portable thanks to a detachable USB-C cable.

NZ$1,879 from NZ$1,423.20 on Samsung (save up to NZ$455.80)
The Flip 5 is Samsung’s latest take on the nostalgic flip phone, and it’s the best version yet. It’s packing serious power, and its updated design now has a larger screen on the front that’s actually useful. Buying directly from Samsung will get you a discount of up to NZ$455 on the phone itself by using the codes CRP2023 and THANKYOU30.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is almost like two devices in one – you’ve got a phone on the outside and a lovely mini tablet when you open it up. The design isn’t for everyone, but if you want an expansive display and high-quality cameras, it could be just right for you. Use the codes CRP2023 and THANKYOU30 to get up to NZ$649 off the phone too.
The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is a new tablet from Samsung, so we’re surprised to see a Cyber Monday deal on a device that’s only been available since late October. We haven’t reviewed it yet, but we can tell you it has an 11-inch display and expandable storage up to 1TB, so there’s room for all your apps and games.
Health & fitness
Samsung’s online store has slashed NZ$142 off the Galaxy Watch 6 for Cyber Monday, just make sure you enter the code THANKYOU30 at checkout to get the full discount. The Watch 6 is of course perfect for Samsung users, and it comes with new health features such as alerts for high heart rates and fall detection. Automatic walking and running detection is also a nice addition.
Headphones & speakers
Amazon Echo Buds (2nd Gen) |
AU$208.05 AU$103.50 on Amazon AU (save AU$104.55)
Amazon has discounted its second-gen wireless earbuds by 50%, saving you a whopping AU$104. These earbuds come with active noise cancellation, and while the quality can’t compete with the best from Bose and Sony, you’ll be paying a lot more for one of those sets. This Amazon’s deal is for the Echo Buds with a wireless charging case, but you can also get the model with a wired charging case for AU$72.15.
Philips TAB6305 2.1 soundbar |
NZ$344 NZ$169 on PB Tech (save NZ$175)
Wanting to upgrade your TV’s native sound? This deal from PB Tech will set you up with a 2.1 channel Bluetooth soundbar and a wireless subwoofer from Philips. This setup works with HDMI ARC and offers support for Dolby Audio, so it should give a decent kick to your TV’s standard sound output. This deal is available from PB Tech where you can save NZ$175 for Cyber Weekend.
The Chromecast with Google TV is a streaming dongle for not-so-smart TVs, which gives you an easy way of watching Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime Video and others without needing to upgrade your current telly. This model only offers HD streaming, so it’s perfect if you haven’t got a 4K TV. If you do, you can get the Chromecast with 4K support for AU$79, which is AU$24.50 off. Discount is available from Amazon Australia.
Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) |
AU$156 AU$120.30 on Amazon AU (save AU$35.70)
The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) features 1080p video quality and gives you the ability to see, hear and speak to whoever is at your door using your phone, tablet or computer. It also offers motion detection, and if you get a Ring Protect subscription (NZ$4.95 per month), you can get video history for up to 180 days. Now 23% off on Amazon Australia, which isn't as good as the 35% off deal that was available on Cyber Monday.
Google Nest Cam (battery) |
AU$344 AU$271.80 on Amazon AU (save AU$72.20)
Amazon was offering a huge 40% off the Google Nest Cam over the Black Friday weekend, bringing the price down to AU$208, but it's now only discounted by 21%. This security camera offers HD resolution and night vision, so you should get good quality video day or night. You get three hours of video history as standard, but you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to get up to 60 days of event video history.
Arlo Essential indoor camera |
AU$166.25 AU$98.65 on Amazon AU (save AU$67.60)
The Arlo Essential indoor camera will help you keep an eye on what’s happening at home while you’re away. It captures 1080p video quality and allows for two-way audio, so you can even soothe your pets when they’re at home without you. This model is wired, so you just have to plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi network to get started. Available from Amazon Australia for NZ$98.65, which is just over NZ$100.
The Philips Hue Play light bar is designed to be mounted to the back of your TV or monitor, to help add some ambiance or a splash of colour while using the screen. This pack includes two Hue Play light bars and two TV mounts for just AU$146, which is just over 40% off the list price. Before you buy the Hue Play, note you’ll also need a Philips Hue Bridge which is sold separately – it allows you to control the lights from anywhere.
We rate the Kindle Paperwhite as one of the best ereaders you can buy, with its 6.8-inch display and comfortable reading experience being the two big selling points. Its E Ink screen imitates paper, and it has a bigger battery than previous models so you can read for longer between charges. To top it all off, it has an adjustable warm light and waterproofing too. This discount comes from Amazon Australia, and free delivery is available.
Amazon Kindle Oasis (8GB) |
AU$449 AU$310.50 on Amazon AU (save AU$138.50)
The Kindle Oasis is a few years old now, first releasing back in 2019. Despite this, it still offers a premium reading experience, with its metal chassis and page-turn buttons. It also has a 7-inch screen, an adjustable warm light and waterproof rating up to the IPX8 standard, should you want to read in the bath or by the pool. We were hoping it’d be cheaper for Cyber Monday considering it’s a few years old, but this is the cheapest we can find.
The Kindle Scribe is Amazon’s note-taking ereader, and it’s now 20% off for Cyber Monday. While we were hoping for a better deal, it’s worth considering if you’ve previously found Kindle screens too small – the Kindle Scribe has a 10.2-inch display. While you can’t make notes directly onto ebooks, the Scribe lets you digitally attach sticky notes. This deal comes on the base model, which includes 16GB of onboard storage and the Basic Pen.
• Also available from PB Tech for NZ$499.
