Spartacus: House of Ashur shock finale drops next week — and one star thinks fans 'won't be able to guess it if they tried'
Game on, Jordi Webber
If anything, this week's Spartacus: House of Ashur episode 9 is the calm after the storm. Episode 8 saw the surprise death of Celadus (Dan Hamill) in the arena, refusing to fight the House of Proculus' female gladiator because she reminded him too much of romantic flame Achillia (Tenika Davis).
Now, it's up to Achillia and Celadus' mentee Tarchon (Jordi Webber) to pick up the emotional pieces and move forward. Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) and the rest of the big players in the Starz show have their own agendas, so all eyes are on Achillia to avenge the house's deaths and come out on top.
But does this mean we know what's coming in next week's Spartacus: House of Ashur finale? Absolutely not. According to Webber, we won't even be able to hazard a guess at what's around the corner.
'There's grief, regret, anger and resentment'
"There's a mixed bag of things in there," Webber tells me. "There's grief, regret, anger, resentment, maybe even a bit of resolve. There's a line where Tarchon says in episode 9, 'how do you move past it?' And then Korris (Graham McTavish) says to him, 'by holding on to his remains.' That line says worlds.
"I think that's the way forward. Really leaning into who's here and who's with you in spirit. Celadus will always be a part of Tarchon. But leaning into actual other fighters and the leaders, that's the only way to live. It's having other things to live for and other people to live for."
And for next week's finale? "You won't be able to guess it if you tried."
But try I will regardless. In my best case scenario, Achillia wipes the floor with all of her opponents before taking down Ashur in a bid for her freedom. Viridia (India Shaw-Smith) realizes that Ashur is a complete letch and she's best off staying well away from him, leaving Ashur and Korris to focus on their legacy... if they're still alive, that is.

One thing is for sure, though – gladiators will keep on fighting until Starz decides to call time on Spartacus. But we're running before we can walk, so in the meantime, I suggest you strap in for a bumpy finale ride.
