T-Mobile's opening Galaxy Z Fold 8 deal features the biggest trade-in rebate I've ever seen — up to $1,900 off
T-Mobile has upped its game significantly with this deal
It's not unusual for the big-name carriers to offer serious trade-in rebates on the latest devices, but T-Mobile's opening deal on the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is one of the best I've seen yet.
Right now, you can get up to $1,900 off the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with an eligible trade-in and new line. That's a very aggressive opening deal and the biggest rebate I've ever seen on any device.
As you'd expect, you need a new line on one of the carrier's more premium unlimited plans. Breaking down the T&Cs, T-Mobile specifies you need a line on the Experience Beyond plan, which is a plan that costs $100/mo on a single line. That per-line cost averages out a lot cheaper when you add additional lines, but it's still a premium plan with a relatively hefty price.
With this deal, however, you save $80 per month on the device, which is a high enough saving that the plan cost could be justified. There are a lot of useful perks with the Experience Beyond plan too, such as 4K UHD streaming, a free Netflix subscription, and completely unlimited mobile hotspot usage.
T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 deal
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 / Fold 8 / Fold 8 Ultra: up to $1,900 off with a trade-in and qualifying line
T-Mobile's launch offer for the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Fold 8 includes a saving of up to $1,900 on the Fold 8 Ultra when you trade in — that will effectively bring the price of the device down to $100. You will need to add a qualifying line to your account at the same time, though, such as the Experience Beyond plan.
If you're interested in reading more about these devices, I'd recommend our hands-on preview of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or our Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra preview, both of which include our initial impressions on these devices.
The most interesting update for Samsung's latest devices is that the brand has decided to split out the Fold series into two devices. The Fold 8 Ultra is essentially a direct successor to last year's Fold 7, while the Fold 8 is a completely new form factor for the brand. It's a slightly smaller and squatter design that's more suited to videos and gaming, rather than productivity tasks.
