Xbox One price slashed to £399, includes free Titanfall

Xbox One Titanfall
Will the Titanfall bundle boost Xbox One sales?

The Xbox One will receive a £30 price cut on February 28 and will come with a free copy of Titanfall.

That's the big gaming news of the day, with the Xbox One now costing just £50 more than the PS4, while still coming with Kinect and now a free game too.

It's not just any free game either – Titanfall is the next-gen title everyone's been talking about for a long time. We've been playing the beta and can confirm it's both super-pretty and super-fun to play.

Free Titanfall

"It's about giving gamers in the UK the best possible value that we can," Xbox UK's Marketing Director Harvey Eagle told our buddies at OXM this morning.

"We feel the time is right now to do this because Titanfall is coming out. It's the game that most gamers are looking forward to playing, and we think that this is a great time to offer this new price point moving forwards, and include the game while stocks last.

"Titanfall is a game that has won more than 80 awards so far, it's incredibly hotly anticipated, and I believe it's a game that people will buy an Xbox One in order to play. But moving forwards if you think about what I think are the three hottest games of the year to come, Titanfall, Watch Dogs and Destiny, the only place you're going to be able to play all three of those games is on Xbox One."

Get it while it's hot

To get the free copy of Titanfall, you'll have to make sure you pick up one of the £399 Titanfall bundles which will come with special packaging and includes the console, Kinect sensor, standard Xbox One wireless controller, Xbox One Chat Headset and one month of Xbox Live Gold membership.

We predict that the availability of this bundle will be limited so if you're interested, we advise pre-ordering as soon as possible - you can do so from today.

The price cut for the regular Xbox One pack will hit retailers on Feb 28 so anyone who buys an Xbox One between now and then... well just don't.
