Cloud AI smarts, right in your phone
Pixel 6 is powered by the new Google Tensor processor, which is the first ever custom-built chip in a Pixel device. In terms of performance, the Tensor chip allows the Pixel 6 to perform tasks up to 80% faster than the Pixel 5, but that’s really only the beginning of what the new chipset brings to the table.
Thanks to Tensor, the Pixel 6 is capable of advanced on-device AI – no internet connection necessary. Features like Live Translate allow you to translate live video captions, signs and private chats in up to 55 languages right on the device, along with 104 additional languages while online.¹

Tensor’s advanced machine learning capabilities even extend to video capture, taking full advantage of Google’s HDRnet technology – an image enhancement data pipeline of sorts that uses AI to process HDR images faster and more accurately. This means the Pixel 6 can process incredible 4K HDR video on the fly, resulting in richer colours, enhanced tone mapping and improved Night Sight video.
