Nikon CoolPix P80 review

Who needs an SLR? The Nikon P80 offers the same exposure modes at half the price

TechRadar Verdict

The P80 demonstrates the gulf between what looks good on paper and what works well in practice. Yes, it does have an 18x zoom and image stabilisation, but the AF is too slow to make those long shots feasible, and the electronic viewfinder is inferior to a digital SLR’s optical ’finder

Cons

  • -

    Poor quality viewfinder

  • -

On paper, it looks as if the Nikon P80 can do anything you'd ever ask of a camera.

The 18x zoom covers a range equivalent to 27mm to nearly 500mm, and in-built image stabilisation should help keep those long shots steady.
