Samsung has officially revealed its new 2026 smartwatch models at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 launching alongside the Android-phone king’s new Z-series line of foldable handsets.

Both watches get boosts in battery life and peak brightness, while also coming in slimmer chassis aimed to make them more comfortable to wear. But the biggest change is perhaps their pivot from the in-house Exynos chipset to Snapdragon’s Wear Elite processors that were launched earlier this year. Read more about them in our Galaxy Unpacked coverage.

If either new wearable appeals, the South Korean tech giant is offering pre-order deals on the new devices, and has even provided TechRadar Australia readers with an exclusive code for extra savings.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 (40mm)
Save 27% (AU$174.95)
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 (40mm): was AU$649 now AU$474.05 at Samsung Australia

The Galaxy Watch 9 retains much of the overall look of the Watch 8, but in a slimmer chassis. Despite that, the 40mm size has kept the same the 325mAh battery from the Watch 8, while the 44mm gets a slight boost from 435mAh to 445mAh. Use the code TIME2SAVE at checkout to save AU$100, and stack it with the code WEARGALAXY for another AU$50 off. To sweeten the pot further, save an additional 5% off when you use our exclusive code TR-WATCHSAVE during the first week of the pre-order period, valid from 11pm on July 22 to 11:59pm on July 29. If you have larger wrists, the 44mm model’s cost comes down from AU$710 to AU$532 after all three codes.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Save 27% (AU$349.95)
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: was AU$1,299 now AU$949.05 at Samsung Australia

Despite its name, this is actually the third iteration of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with last year’s model being a storage-bumped variant of its 2024 precessor. The Galaxy Watch 2 has seen some big upgrades, with a peak brightness of 5,000 nits (up from 3,000) while the battery capacity is increased 35%, going from 590mAh to 800mAh. The chassis is also 12% slimmer for improved comfort and the IP rating is upgraded from IP68 to IP69K for better water and dust resistance. The TIME2SAVE code is boosted to AU$250 for the Ultra 2, and pairing it with the WEARGALAXY code and the exclusive TR-WATCHSAVE code gets you a further discount that’s just shy of AU$100, bringing the final price to AU$949.05.

Want to bundle your new watch with some accessories? You can save an extra 10% off a pair of Galaxy Buds when bundled with the Galaxy Watch 9 or Watch Ultra 2, or 30% off accessories like watch bands or the Galaxy SmartTag trackers.

If you have any Samsung Rewards Points, you can also redeem them for 5x their value, capped at AU$100. While there’s no extra trade-in credit, you can still earn up to AU$210 towards your cart when you trade in an old device.
