4th of July sales: Get a queen hybrid mattress for $164 at Amazon
One of Smith & Oliver’s most popular hybrid mattresses is on sale for $164
You can’t move for affordable mattress deals at the moment, including this head-turner from Amazon: get a queen size Smith & Oliver Mattress for just $164 (was $440). This 10” tall hybrid mattress is made with memory foam and spring coils, with a Euro pillow top for instant plushness. A full size is discounted to $159.99 (was $299).
We’ve seen some fantastic 4th of July mattress sales this year, and this Amazon offer is a bargain if you want a plush bed-in-a-box for much less. The Smith & Oliver 10” Cool Memory Foam and Spring Hybrid relies on cooling memory foam and a cool-touch cover to regulate temperature. The brand isn’t as well known outside of Amazon, but it has an overall user rating of 4.5 out of 5 for this bed.
We don’t expect the cooling performance to match that of the very best mattresses we’ve tested, but it’s a surprising inclusion for such a cheap mattress and should help reduce your chances of sleeping hot. Once unpacked, the Smith & Oliver mattress is ready to sleep on in 48 hours. We doubt we'll see a better price when the Prime Day mattress deals arrive, so now is a good time to buy.
Smith & Oliver 10” Hybrid Mattress: from $349 $129 at Amazon
Save up to $275 - For not much money, here you’re getting a mattress made with cooling foam (certified non-toxic), 15-gauge pocket spring coils and a soft-touch Euro pillow top for sink-in comfort. The cover is made with organic cotton too, which is another luxury touch for a super-low price. A queen size is reduced to $164 (was $440), though we aren’t sure how long this sale will hang around for.
From our experience, all of the best memory foam mattresses focus on keeping you cool in bed, and most do this through a mix of phase change material and gel-infused foams. The Smith & Oliver 10” Hybrid opts for the latter to keep costs down, and the use of spring coils boosts breathability further as air flows through and around the coils a lot more than in a dense all-foam bed. We’re surprised to see 15-gauge coils used here too, as those are normally found in more expensive mattresses.
Amazon’s mattress trial varies: you’ll get 100 nights to return unboxed beds, compared to 30 days to get a refund on unboxed mattresses. That isn’t as long as the average trial (100 nights), but it’s part of the deal when buying a cheaper mattress from Amazon. You won’t get any free bedding here either, which we’re seeing manufacturers offer in other mattress sales - these bundles often include pillows, bed sheets and a mattress protector for safeguarding your bed from stains.
We’d recommend reading the Smith & Oliver 10” Hybrid Mattress user reviews before making a purchase, and to start testing the mattress as soon as it has arrived and you’ve checked on the box to make sure it’s the size and model you ordered. But at $164 for a queen size, it’s worth considering.
