Looking for a more affordable alternative to your expensive cable subscription, but don't want to miss new episodes of your favorite shows? Sling TV has you covered. This streaming service has been around since 2015 and delivers live TV at a super affordable price. While the service offers plenty of great programming to take advantage of, it doesn't currently offer any kind of free trial.

As we detail below, the Sling TV free trial has been available at intervals in the past, so you could start enjoying thousands of hours of live programming and hit movies for absolutely nothing in the future. While the Sling TV free trial is on hiatus right now, there’s always an enticing money-saving offer available.

Get 50% off your first month of Sling TV

Opt for either its Orange or Blue plan (or both) and new and returning customers can currently save 50% off their first month of one of the <a href="https://www.techradar.com/best/best-tv-streaming-service-cord-cutting-compare" data-link-merchant="techradar.com"" data-link-merchant="sling.com"">best streaming services. That brings the price down from $40 to from $20. Or, if you opt for both, it'll cost $30 for your first month of both the Blue and Orange packages.

Is there a Sling TV free trial available?

Currently, there's no Sling TV free trial on either its Sling Blue or Sling Orange plans. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a free trial available since March 2023, but since then you've been able to benefit from saving 50% on your first month.

Other introductory offers sometimes available are saving $10 off your first month, though we haven't seen this one in a while either.

Detailing some of Sling's other deals below, it's fair to say Sling TV still outdoes some of the other streaming platforms where some of the best streaming deals are concerned. The Disney Plus free trial has all but been rescinded in all countries, while the HBO Max free trial disappeared six months after its launch.

While the Sling TV free trial is more touch and go, there is usually some kind of deal or Sling TV coupon code available for new and eligible returning customers. Definitely keep your eye out!

What is the cheapest way to get Sling TV without a free trial?

There are a couple of other deals available right now to get the Sling experience on the cheap. You can find them in full on Sling TV's offers page, including 30 days of MGM+ for free, or a free month of News Extra.

What can I watch on Sling TV?

You get a bit of everything with the roster of Sling TV channels available – live sports, kids programming, news, general entertainment, lifestyle and an on-demand library of iconic TV series and films.

A Sling Orange plan leans towards the sports fan and families. Unlike Sling Blue, it has all three ESPN channels, Motortrend, and the child-friendly Disney Channel and Freeform. But the plan offers just 32 channels, which you can only stream from one device at a time.

Alternatively, Sling Blue has around 40 channels, the following of which are exclusive to this plan: Fox News, MSNBC, HLN, and Fox and NBC in select markets (you can check if that includes you here); Discovery, E!, Bravo, National Geographic, TLC, SyFy, USA, TruTV, and FX (the later home of the critically-acclaimed Sons of Anarchy); and the NFL Network and NBCSN, so Sling Blue doesn’t mean an absence of sport.

No matter which you pick, your line-up will include A&E, AMC, BET, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, TNT, Vice, History channel, Food Network, and Nick Jr. And, if you sign up for the $55 Sling Orange + Sling Blue plan, you’ll get ALL of the above. Better yet, you might be able to enjoy it all with a Sling TV free trial.
